This is the closest thing I could find that heats and cools. I think it is too large and too heavy. You are probably better off getting a good AC unit and a portable plug in electric heater. LG 7,000 BTU Heat/Cool Window Air Conditioner w/ Remote - LW7010HR

Now I'm wondering if there is a 7000 or 8000 BTU unit that is the exact same size as what comes with the snoozy. If so I'd be willing to swap that out myself and give it a try.

Alan told me he's looking into a supplier for roof top units that heat and cool.

They will be a little pricey, but the thing that caught my ear was that the generator we bought won't be able to push it and the refrigerator??!

I'm keeping an open mind before we upgrade...but I'm sure we will upgrade the unit sometime and sell original on Craiglslist. Any takers???

I think one of the biggest advantages of the snoozy is the seamless roof. You never have to worry about major leaks. If you add the AC to the roof you have one more potential leak to worry about.

Oh yeah,
We also discussed a cover for the abandoned unit, if we go with a rooftop unit. I suggested it be a solid cover about 2 to 3 inches in depth made of tan fiberglass for the outside and then I would build a cabinet for spices, cleaning stuff etc, where the old unit was. It's a work "in motion " and just ideas to improve an already pretty nifty trailer.

Camping at Stone Mountain NC next!

I agree about the roof, but that's why they invented silicone caulk!!

We live in Charleston, so let me know if you need any info, like best restaurants etc. Guess you can send me a personal message.

Lots to see!

Thanks for the offer! Charleston is our favorite city in the south. If the housing market were a little better we'd live there. We visit 3 or 4 times a year. I think there are more amazing restaurants in charleston than any other city in the south. This week we'll be visiting fillet beach and a few restaurants (Husk, hominy grill, and the rest is up for grabs)

Where are you camping in Charleston? We are taking the Quad Pod to Lake Aire or James Island Park on Monday.

Hi Bama,

I have the information on my notepad here by my keyboard.
I've looked at the parks website etc. for information. Got the
gps coordinates, driving directions, mailing address, etc. I am
planning on coming if health allows me and right now I don't
see any problems in that area.

It's hard to believe that this is me because I am the world's
worst recluse. My personality trait is practically pure melancholy.
I could camp in a remote place and be right at home with myself.
But I think I would really enjoy visiting with camping enthusiasts.

I'm thinking I could get me a shell (egg) and come out of my shell.

I'm not sure I know where Barling is, but I'm thinking near Fort Smith?
I haven't located it on the map yet. But I'm always up to an hour
or two drive. I think my wife is up to the trip attitude wise........LOL.

It's just a bit east of Fort Smith. I take I-40 east into Arkansas, then take I-540 south to the Hwy 59 exit (I think that is the 2nd exit off of I-540. Then 59 south, and in about 5 miles you go on a bridge over the Ark. River. Just past the bridge, the park entrance is on the left.

I'm planning on bringing my kayak this year. Might as well make use of the water.

I know how you feel... usually the emptier the campground, the happier I am. But this is pretty fun, with a bunch of good and friendly folks. Last year I didn't arrive until Saturday, right as they were serving up the ice cream social, and even so they gave me firsts and seconds.

Thanks.
I would be coming from the North on Ark 59.
I've made many a trip down that curvy road. LOL.
My GPS may want me to take Okl. 59 from here.
But it does have a habit of rerouting when I don't listen to it.

Ark 59 and OK 59 are only a mile apart in Siloam Springs.
