a yahoo scamper posted this and says he has photos coming. About Vacuum bagging, i know it's popular in the stickie market. I wonder if it will be a molded
fiberglass construction? Hopefully Raya will read this post and share some thoughts.
"Mr and Mrs.
Attached are a few pictures and two of our floor plans. As I stated
before this is simply a prototype, the finished product's fit and finish
will obviously be much better. I hope this gives you and idea of our
design, and as always I will be happy to answer any question I can.
What follows is a brief description of each picture and how the finished
product will differ from what you see here.
Bath Room Shower picture:
This picture was taken facing the rear left of the LiL Snoozy. The
bathroom door will slide forward to aft on a track yet to be installed.
The "porto-potty" you see here is out of my personal boat and will be
replaced with a Thetford Casset Toilet. In my research these are the best
and easiest to use in a smaller camper. Unfortunately the duck-tape and
cardboard box will not be present.
This camper was built using a vacuum bag infusing process, this process
removes all air from the
fiberglass before resin is introduced. Your
camper and all that follow will be built using what is called a "counter
mold" or
Light RTM process. This uses what is essentially a second mold in
place of the bag. The "counter mold" will give us the same gloss and
texture as the exterior with the same color (a
light tan color). It is an
in depth process that I will explain more completely if you are interested.
The walls and floor in this picture are gel coat over unfinished
fiberglass. It is similar in texture to a course fabric. The floors of the
finished camper will be a hard wood laminate or vinyl flooring depending on
the customers choice.
Front Bed:
I added this picture to show our base floor plan. A drawing of the floor
plan you recommended will follow shortly. This is our queen bed model or
LS2/3 models. A custom "Spring Air" queen sized mattress will rest on this
shelf. Under this shelf is storage as well as our gray and fresh water
tanks. The counter in the right of the picture extends to the kitchen
counter down the right side. This is the entertainment center, holding the
TV and added storage.
Kitchen:
This was taken facing the rear right of the LiL Snoozy. The
refrigerator
will set in the open hole. The kitchen sink will be over the door in the
far rear with shelved storage beneath. The reason for the full sized door
is for ease of maintenance. Our entire design is geared towards ease of
construction and ease of maintenance. As you will notice we use only the
latest technology in design, as shown by the blue painters tape. The large
blue square to the left is the depiction of where the right side window
will go. This window will be a full egress window, and will double as a
reach though window. The counter is the perfect height for an average
adult to reach through into the kitchen while enjoying the outside of the
camper. The blue square on the rear wall of the camper is, you guessed it,
the air conditioner. While the AC is an RV rated unit it is the same size
and foot print of a standard window mount.
Proto Type:
An Exterior view. The final gel coat will be more tan in color. We are in
the process of designing graphics similar to larger pricyer RV's. Also, I
promise the final model will have a window.
Rear Entry:
This was taken standing outside the rear entry door.
Floor Plan LS3:
This drawing depicts our LS3 floor plan, this is basically what the proto
type will be. With the couch, this floor plan is capable of sleeping two
adults on the bed and a child on the couch. The LS2 will be the same, but
in place of the two seat couch are two sivel rockers separated by a fixed
table.
Floor Plan LS2B:
I am sure this is the floor plan you have been waiting for. All of the
LiL Snoozys will use the same kitchen and bathroom/shower, the difference
is in the living and sleeping areas. For this model we have reduced the
length of the entertainment center and seating area in favor of two single
beds running longways with a narrow isle between them. We are able to
retain the same plush swivel rockers as the LS2.
The proto-type as it sits in these pictures weighs a little less than 1200
LBS. The finished product will be in the neighborhood of 1800LBS dry.
That coupled with the aggressive aerodynamics means the LiL Snoozy pulls
like a dream. I recently towed it with my father's 2008 Cadilac CTS (V6
motor) I set the cruise control at 75 MPH and had plenty of power to pass
even on the steep hills north of Greenville SC. We very rarely even saw
passing gear.
Please let me know if you have any more questions or input. Thank you for
the opportunity to explain our new creation!
