Our new life chapter is kicking off! We have
sold our 32' fifth wheel,
sold our gas guzzling mega truck, bought a new Toyota Tundra, and have made an offer on a used
Scamp 5th wheel which has been accepted!
Now we have to get some serious questions answered. I have read somewhere that the placement of the ball hitch in the bed of the truck makes a big difference in the maneuverability of backing the trailer. I tried to do a search on the forum but must not have done something right because I couldn't get any returns. It seems someone said the hitch needed to be placed some inches behind the axel rather than over it? How far from the back of the bed? Could some of you 5er owners give us some guidance on this asap since I will need to have something done about it TOMORROW! Also, if you know of any issues we might not be aware of with the Tundra with the off-road package, please tell me!
We're excited! We really have some adjusting to do after having three big rigs with slides, etc., but we're looking forward to it!
Thanks for your help and input!
