Lost on Casita Layout

Ok I've decided I want a Scamp or Casita. I pretty clueless on them. I need to sleep 2 adults and 2 small kids (4 and 6 months age) I talked to a Casita owner about this sleeping 4. She was hesitant but said we could. Is that right I guess I am not seeing how we can all sleep. Any help will be appreciated. I would drive over if I could but its a nearly 5 hour drive. If it can sleep the 4 of us then I will drive down.

Sadly, I don't know how sleeping four would work and as soon as the children grow, I really don't see it as possible. Just my $.02 and worth about that.

This is a Casita Liberty Model

Casita Travel Trailers - Our Showroom | Liberty | Schematic

It has 2 dinettes side-by-side, and has a variety of configurations.
  1. Two Twin Beds with an aisle between
  2. One Double Bed in back with a 2-person Dinette beside it
  3. One King Size Bed filling the whole space
The only way 4 can sleep in this model is to use the King Size Bed configuration and everybody sleeps together.

A Casita Spirit Deluxe (side dinette) can be modified to have a bunk bed over the side dinette. There are several that have done this mod on the CasitaForum. Which would allow you to sleep four and have a front bathroom. The same mod can be done on the side dinette Scamp.

Parkliner here ParkLiner Fiberglass Ultralight Travel Trailers - – Take me somewhere fun! ™
offers a queen bed and a set of bunk beds, I believe Scamp has a similar option with front bunk beds, Escape trailers Escape Trailer Industries > Home also offers bunk bed in front on certain models.

If you don't require the bathroom, a standard Casita will sleep more people. (The deluxe Casitas are the ones currently shown on Casita Enterprises' schematic.) Where the deluxe has a bathroom and closet across the front, the standard uses that space for a gaucho bed.

Those pictures *are* of the Liberty Deluxe layout.

Donna's pic is of a modified Spirit Deluxe.

My experience is that kids are relentless about growing. Popup trailers worked best for us while they were growing up. We are now geezers and consider our Casita to be a 2 person trailer and a very good one.

Years ago a friend of ours had his son sleeping on a rubber boat that was turned upside down. The boys siblings took up all the other bunks.

bunks

Gina, this has nothing to do with a glass trailer and bunks, just my past expiriences when my daughters were around two and three years old. I bought a bunkhouse model class C so they would have a private "room" that they could go to and be their own area. I made kind of a curtain out of a thick lace fabric and heavy dowels and hooks that I could close off the opening when we put them to bed. I will always remember the first time I saw the oldest girl sleeping basically off the upper bed and contentedly in my bulgingly stretched safety net. Glad I went heavy in my sewing and we never had any problems.
Anyway, just something to think about bunkbeds and small children. I'm sure you'll get a lot more info from other members that have first hand expirience for your question as I'm sure others have been down the same road.

We are still camping in my Uhaul-ct 13 with 2 teenage (16) girls sleeping in the bunks. One is 5'10 the other 6'. So sleeping 4 is not impossible how ever they do make my go out side all the time so they can do there makeup, get dressed, and just because i'm in the way......LOL

Thumbs up

Ha ha, Jason, nothing like being kicked out of your own house, on the other hand getting teenagers to do anything with their parents deserves a medal !!

Although they don't advertise it on their webpage Casita does offer the bunkbed option from the factory but you have to ask them about it.
