I worked this as a disaster housing inspector for PB Disaster Services and was in north central Baton Rouge for 3 weeks till I had to go back to my regular job. The number of homes damaged by 20" of rain in 4 days was awful. Almost none of these tens of thousands of dwellings were anywhere near a flood zone but sustained anywhere from 2" to 5' of water in them and 3 days of no power made the mold leap out of the furniture. Tens of thousands of cars with full coverage ins. are being hauled off and those without are being junked somewhere
The millions of FEMA grant $ to the 130K applicants isn't much but will all be spent in the local area for recovery and rebuilding.
I saw only a few campers pulled up to damaged dwellings. There's simply no way to do a full hook up in a neighborhood.
