The Natchez Trace is a beautiful drive from Nashville to Natchez, MS. There are two campgrounds on the trace in Mississippi. Jeff Busby, between Tupelo (the birthplace of Elvis) and Jackson; and Rocky Springs, between Jackson and Natchez. Both are dry campgrounds, but they are FREE! They are both great spots to spend a nite(or two). Natchez State Park just north of Natchez is a good state park. Riverview RV park in Vidalia, LA, just across the river from Natchez, is right on the river and also a neat place to spend a day or 2. Be sure to spend some time touring a few of the antebellum homes in the area. Have a great trip..

Chattanooga TN. is a great place to visit, the nightlife and restaurants along the river is fabulous.

Yvon,

There are plenty of things to do once you get to Louisiana. Here is one:

http://www.acadianvillage.org/Home.asp

It is a reconstruction of a Cajun plantation dating from not long after the Acadians were moved from Acadia. I think it is extremely interesting.

Also, if you go down the Mississippi on the East side down through St. Francisville, you can see many antebellum plantations. If you happen to drive down through Natchez, Mississippi there are some fine old homes there too.

Bonne chance, et soyez bienvenue a' Louisiane. Il y a beaucoup des sites Cajun et historique en Louisiane.

Be sure to bring mosquito repellent with you. That time of year can be pretty fierce if you are near water, and in Louisiana everything is near water!

Here is a link to the houses and sights around Natchez. I recomment "Longwood". Great old house, 8 sides, interesting story.
