My new purchase of an old Scamp 13" (1982) is way exciting - and in the next day or two, we will cast off on our maiden voyage for 10 days to SE Oregon. This is the shakedown cruise - figured what the hell, just go big vs going out for just a weekend. I packed a few extra bottles of wine, so all should be well. If anyone sees us (burgandy Chevy pickup w/canopy - little 13' Scamp), make sure you come and visit. Voyage will take us thru the Willamette NF/McKenzie Hwy, out Hwy 20, south to Frenchglen/Steens, over Hart Mtn., and then who knows where). I'll post news upon our return.

Over Hart Mountain, drive VERY SLOWLY on a tedious gravel road from Frenchglen (about 59 miles). I understand the road down the Mountain to the town of Plush is also difficult. Be careful and have fun. We did this trip about 6 weeks ago and it was glorious.
