Just finished
Scamp Camp in Sebring, FL with 64 +/- like minded folks. It was a blast...so many friendly people...a number of whom post here as well (you know who you are). It was a wonderful week of making new friends and sharing tips, tricks and trailer mods. Norm and Ginny even made 2 trips over from Wachula to hang with us. What a treat.
Since leaving NW SC a week and a half ago, we have had one semi-serious offer from a young waitress @ a waffle house fondly remembering family vacays in their
Scamp; had numerous requests for tours and info such that we've made a list of trailers and websites for people to research; run into a 13'
Burro owner wanting to trade up and have an older gentleman currently camping 2 sites over with what he says is a 1985
U-Haul carrying what looks like could be as much
weight in and on the trailer as it weighs on it's own. Seriously.
I call it the Chuckwagon cuz it even has an iron skillet hanging on the door. Apparently he's a regular here at Collier-Seminole and they call him "The Junkman". I'll try to get pictures tomorrow because there is no way I can do verbal justice to what it really looks like.
We also caught up with another couple just across the road here who had been at
Scamp Camp. They'll be here till Sunday also so I'm sure we'll be talking to them often. Nice folks.
The folks in the
Burro are new to the whole fibreglas trailer thing and are not used to folks stopping them to ask questions. We told them they'd get used to it.
We do attract a lot of attention don't we?
Josie and Craig...on the road and up to something.
