Let's not forget what Christmas is all about:
"And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, 'Fear not: for behold, I bring unto you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the City of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.' And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host, praising God, and saying, 'Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.'"
Merry Christmas to all my Egg Friends and Family!

My mom came over Christmas eve and slept on the couch, so she would be there for the present opening. Missed my brother, who was in Chilliwack with his ex and their kids for Christmas. He came back last night.
I am amazed that the kids still like hanging out with the family. Since three of the five kids are over sixteen, I was expecting more angst by now. When we had twin girls, it seemed like everyone told us, "oh just wait till they are teenagers". Well, they turn 17 next month, and they still seem to enjoy the company of their family. The twins have warned me abut my nine year old daughter though. Apparently they think she will be difficult in the teen years, we will see.
Another happy Christmas. I hope you all enjoyed you Christmas too.

had our family gathering yesterday on boxing day as we both worked on christmas day.
everyone was turkey-ed out so we bbq'd steak instead. so many people in our province are still without hydro following the ice storm last weekend...and also in southern ontario and michigan. thankfully, there are hydro workers from other provinces and states who came to help and slowly things are improving. we were only without hydro for a few hours christmas day (but we weren't home due to working) but it is reassuring to know that our trailer is just outside in the carport and would house us with warmth from the propane furnace and the ability to cook on our little propane stove, should there be another extended outage in the months to come....we are so fortunate.
