One thing I've noticed about fiberglass get-togethers is that they welcome any campers. I attended my first Scamp camp in a Fleetwood pop-up, and the host of last years LBL rally showed up in an A-Liner.

Actually, I am just coming up to the point where I will have lived in Washington as long as I have lived in Wisconsin.

I remember: Bubbler, Door County Fish Boil, Gertie the Duck* (THAT really dates me), Schlitz, Pabst, Miller, Gettleman's, Marshfield, Blatz, Point, schnibblings, Kearney & Trecker, (used to work there), the 'souse side', Jones' Island, Laverne & Shirley, the Circus Parade, the 6th, 16th, 27th & 35th street viaducts, Militaires Drum & Bugle Corps, Lake Band, the Electroliners, Chicago, Milwaukee, St Paul & Pacific, Marquette University (met my wife there), The Dells, American Motors, House on the Rock, Bradford Beach, Lake Michigan freezing over, Cave of the Mounds, Wisconsin Tower, Clark Gas, Halfway House, Mader's, Karl Ratzsches, George Webb, Piggly Wiggly, custard, WOKY, etc.

Thanks for the trip down memory lane!

You mentioned Electroliners. I rode on them, but they were then called Liberty Liners after being purchased by the Red Arrow Lines in PA.

How many of you are from the U.S. Midwest,Say within 3-400 miles of Chicago? Just curious, I know of a few of you, but the rest must be lurking or always out camping or something!

I spent 13 years in the MidWest. 8 in Omaha, and another 5 in Oklahoma City. The Air Force sent me kicking and screaming to Omaha (I had requested San Antonio, TX, South, East, West in that order when returning from overseas). Omaha turned out to be one of our favorite assignments, the people were great there (even if they dress entirely in red from shoes to hats on college football Saturdays). We even had two children that are officially "Cornhuskers" from our tour in Omaha.
I'm originally from PA but now live in GA.
We'll be at LBL in TN this year, see some of you there!

A lot has changed for us since last year! We didn't know about ScampCamps a year ago. We were just starting to do our research on fiberglass rvs. We joined this forum at the start of 2011, and then picked up our new Scamp in Backus this past April. Since then we have had numerous camping trips getting to know and love our Scamp. We did make it to Eggfest in Duluth, MN this June! It would be great to see another gathering in the LaCrosse/Winona area!

That really sounds like fun but I'm heading west (ND, MT, ID) tomorrow for a couple weeks. Going to do some flyfishing.

Edward, I'll be at the Milford TCT Ralley too!! Look up on sites 36, 37, 38, and 39, you'll find the 'Fiberglass Fourum' as I'm calling us. There will be 2 Uhauls, a Scamp, and a Boler!!
If there's a site nearby, you're welcome to join us!

OK, now I'm feeling really depressed. All this talk of camping in your great little trailers and we haven't had a chance to be out since July 15. Between my wife's (CindyL) schedule at her university, my new job (Superintendent of Schools in Elmwood Park, IL), and our new grand-daughter in Madison, WI, we can't find any time to be out with our UHaul. September and early October is no better, but I(we) hope to be able to join the folks at the Fall Rally by the Mississippi in later October. I NEED one more trip!

We live 2 miles past the end of the earth or 2 miles north of Nowthen Mn, does that count as Midwest? See you'al next week at Clear Lake via Rapid City SD and any where else between here and there that we may find interesting.
