Missed the boat

We arrived at our sons house in Maine today for a visit. Browsing through a little local newspaper we saw a 2004 Casita 17 for sale for $4500. called the number and found it had been sold a few days ago, guess it wasn't meant to be! We are happy with our Uhaul anyway.

Sorry you missed out on this one. Guess it was not meant to be.
Maybe it was not as good as you were hoping for anyhow. I try to tell myself that when I think I have missed a good deal. Enjoy visiting with your son.

We probably wouldn't have bought it, but wanted to look anyway. Both our vintage teardrop and Uhaul camper were great deals, so we can't be lucky all the time! Son's wife just had a baby so it was a good visit. Back home now and planning our winter camping in the south, snowbirds we will be, goodbye snow!

Doubt that it was a scam, had a phone number local to where we were, Mary called and talked to a woman and was told it had been sold three days before. It was our first day in Maine and we just saw the ad. Some people don't research the true value of what they are selling. For example, we almost got our Uhaul for $1000 because the RV dealer had no knowledge about small fiberglass trailers, BUT, before they would commit to a price they did some looking online and we ended up paying $1800, which we feel was still a bargain. I have seen scam ads on craigslist, and even responded to one, but when I was told that the Scamp was at a shipping company and could be shipped anywhere for free, then I knew it was a scam and discontinued contact with the "seller"!
