I was pulling out of our driveway the other day, and heading in the other direction was a small motorhome. It looked like a 10 foot box, and extended over the cab as well. I did not get a great look, there were no decals. I did spot the generator exhaust, fridge vents, rooftop AC, etc. Living in New England I have only seen one Casita and one Burro other than mine. I have never seen a motorhome, does anyone have any ideas what it may have been?

Thanks

Mike

Scamp made a motorhome in small qtys. May have been one of them, but there are a few Class As, older, small, that exist.

Gina, It could have been a Scamp, that may explain why it looked so close to a 13" trailer (no windows on the rear), at first I thought it may have been custom made. I do a bit of searching for the scamp motorhome and see it that is what I saw.

thanks

Mike, here's some picture I posted a while back:
Scamp Motorhome

Tioga was once a small all fiberglass motorhome on a Toyota chassis too. My folks had one, what a gutless wonder! Not enough power to get out of it's own way.

We see them popup for sale occasionally in the Miscellaneous RVs and RV items For Sale or Wanted forum.

How about this rig? Caught it out west in a local parade.

I think that one is a Ultravan and is painted aluminum. Uses a Corvair engine rear wheel drive and like eggs is kind of a cult item. Friend of mine owned one and it was a neat little rig, but had problems with the front axles. He ended up having his modified to use a Buick front axle. It had a lot more steam than the Toyota based Chinook, which really did have trouble getting out of its own way.

Eric, you are right, that's what it was labeled. I didn't know what it was, never seen one before and it had nice curves like my Fiberglass so I thought maybe it was. Thanks for the info. Love to see one like that built out of fiberglass!
