Moms final trip!!!

Hi: All... My MOM came home Sat. to her final rest. She rode in a Werther's Candy Tin and purple velvet drawstring, in a place of honour, in my brothers MoHo.
After wonderful celebrations of her almost 90 years of singing, living, travelling, loving we laid her down beside my father at Forest Lawn... Her voice and being will be missed, but we know she is singing a new song in Gods Choir!!! Thanks MOM.

I'm sorry for your loss Alf. I bet there's a story behind the candy tin...

Hi: All and thankyou. Life is a story, the candy tin is a chapter. Mom, Granny, Great Granny, Great great Granny, kept it stocked and all who visited knew where it was and what it contained. It is an original Werthers tin and a fitting tribute to her generosity.

It always hurts when one of the people you love transitions out of this life. It sounds like you have some wonderful memories. Nothing better can be left behind than those memories. I hope those memories bring a smile to your face.

Thumbs up Thinking outside the "Box"

What a grand idea! A truly fitting Tribute.

It reminds me of my Mother's memorial service in 2004. She donated her body to the Syracuse University School of Medicine because she felt that a traditional funeral was just burying $money$.

For the service, we placed an enlarged framed photograph of her surrounded by her Doll Collection and her Jewelry Box as a substitute for a casket. At the close of the service, guests were encouraged to take something from the display home as a memory keepsake.

Hi: Frederick L. Simson...We used an enlarged photo of Mom and her silk floral arrangement, to flank the Werther's tin. On the steps leading up to the table was a wreath aprox. 15" in dia. I wove of Worther's candies! Everyone was able to snip off a sweet treat from the wreath, in her memory.

What a great way to celebrate her life.
Today we went to visit Joan's Mom in the hospital and who at 98, is nearing the end of her journey. Then it was off to visit my mom [along with all the grand kids and great grands] to celibrate her 101st B'day to day and see her smile while holding our son's 3 mo old. She's still going strong and now I know what will happen to the special cookie box she keeps on her dresser.
I hope your memories live forever

A singing mom just keeps on singing. Those choruses will play over and over in your head. She will squeeze your heart when you hear others sing her favorites.

So sorry for your loss. You were truy blessed to have her so long. Terry R.
