Mounting of Fantastic Fans

Good morning. I have a question for the Lil Snoozy owners out there. LS mounts the fan on the bathroom end-wall, in a vertical position. In practice, how well does that work out? I am specifically wondering about water. Vent/fans are designed to mount flat on a roof, and the cover then sheds water away from the opening and from the motor.

Mounted vertically, has anybody had any issues with heavy rains either entering the camper, or moisture getting to the fan motor? I am looking at installing a fan, and am weighing whether to put it on top, as it was intended, or on an end-wall, for lower clearance.

We have a Lil Snoozy. The fan works well in that position, but it is not that useful in the bath. The door hits the cover. I had to install a stop for it to keep it from damaging the cover. If I had it to do over I would do without the Fantastic fan.

I had the Lil Snoozy factory mount a MaxAir fan instead of the Fantastic Fan. I had installed a Fantastic Fan in our Scamp, but later found out about the advantages of the MaxAir fan. My basic model runs the same price as the fantastic fan on Amazon, and it has many more speeds to choose from (forward & reverse) and can be set to turn off when a desired temperature is reached.
It never leaks when open during a very heavy rain storm, and does work well in our shower.

That's good to know. Thanks for the information. I really like the Lil Snoozy trailers, by the way.
