I just bought my insurance from State Farm. They used only my purchase price when computing my coverage. The agent stated, that is the value.

I did have a bill of sale from the sellers, and my title application which also listed that as the selling price.

Not certain if my insurance company would have an age requirement for doing the full replacement of a trailer. We have confirmed with them that they would replace the trailer with the closest equivalent new trailer to what we had. Of course, they will only cover for replacement, and like many insurance companies, if you just take a pay out instead of replacing, you get only an appraised market value.

I know some people that have done lots of major upgrades and modifications to their trailers, get an appraisal done, set a value, and insure it for that amount.

The bottom line for anyone, is to insure that you do have adequate protection. I know we just reviewed our house policy a few years ago, and found that we were WAY under insured.

MSRP on 1993 Scamp 16'

My impression is that you have to shop around to find an insurer who will write an agreed value policy on an older unit. Lyle, if you are okay with your current coverage from State Farm, fine, but if not, there are quite a few threads on the subject in the "Money Matters" section of the forum.
