My door "bow" fix

I had over a 1" gap at the bottom of the door and it let in quite a bit of cold air.
I put these on about a year ago. I snugged them at first and tightened them a little every few weeks especially in the hot humid weather. It worked pretty well. Almost a complete seal now with the original door gaskets. I used rope hooks and turn buckles.

Good post. How did you fasten the hooks? The screws are just into the inner door material?

Good engineering work! You could build a small magazine type holder right over those and leave them in place.

Cool. I was thinking about doing something similar and assumed I would do a through-bolt of some kind. But you have proven that screws work, since the stress in "shear" to the screw. Dang, another Scamp project!

Thanks. Any more ideas.

I to battle this issue with my door. I will consider this one in the shortage of other ideas. Even our local rv repair shop which I was told was the boler people just told me what do you expect from something from the 70s. Just put a big foam gasket to the threshold. I like this new idea better. B

What is the measurement between the top and bottom screws where you anchored them into the door? And what sized turnbuckle did you use?

Thanks for the post.
