I've been a member of this group for awhile, but only dreamed of owning a fiberglass trailer while camping in my Chalet Aspen folding trailer. I loved the Chalet, but needed more sleeping space. A couple of weeks ago, we saw a 2004 Scamp 5th wheel for sale by an RV dealer on ebay, bought it directly from the dealer before the auction ended, and I made a cross-country trip this week to pick it up.

For those wondering how a Scamp 5th wheel works with a full-size pickup, I can report that the Scamp works quite well with my Titan, which is 55 in. from the ground to the top of the bed rails.

We are so excited about this trailer, but I can't really talk about it with my friends, family or co-workers, because they all look at me like I'm crazy for (1) liking a trailer so much; and (2) driving across country on the spur of the moment to pick one up!

Well, you came to the right place, obviously! I remember when Kristen was saying she just liked to go sit in her trailer in her driveway, and now I feel like doing the same thing, and mine is in the garage!

It looks like a great trailer, do you have interior pictures?

LOL, don't worry Bobbie, I've done the SAME thing with both my first rig, the ramshackle tent trailer, and my Compact II. And don't you LOVE that yours fits in the garage? SOOOO handy for plugging in to charge/cool down the fridge/pack for a trip...

Congrats on your Scamp 5th wheel, they look like great rigs, I've been trying to get my folks to look at one for a WHILE now...hehe

Here are a couple of interior shots.

Of course I just came back in from sitting in mine in the driveway, too. I know the neighbors think we're nuts!

See, that's the advantage of being able to park in the garage. The neighbors don't know about it!

The pictures are a bit too small- you can upload bigger ones.
