I ordered new plexi windows and lockstrip for my 81 13 Scamp in early January and nothing had arrived. Called Scamp and got the tracking # and when I ran it here is what we found:

PHOENIX,
AZ, US 01/14/2008 4:14 P.M. ALL MERCHANDISE DISCARDED. UPS WILL NOTIFY THE SENDER WITH DETAILS OF THE DAMAGE

WICHITA,
KS, US 01/12/2008 10:00 P.M. THE PACKAGE IS DELAYED DUE TO A TRAIN DERAILMENT

DES MOINES,
IA, US 01/11/2008 11:44 A.M. DEPARTURE SCAN

Talked with Ken at Scamp Trailers and they are going to re-send the order.

Next time we'll take the bus.

Hi: I wonder if Scamp has a "Walk up window" like Wendys. Could be safer

Well, my new Scamp plexi windows replacement order got here after the first one burned up in the train derailment.

Problem is that only one of the lockstrip beadings is long enough to go completely around the window. The second one is too short and looks like they think I can use the overage from the first window to finish the second. That would mean a double seam on one of the windows and I don't think that is a proper installation.
Anyone that has done a window replacement with the lock strip do a double seam? Anyone ever seen a Scamp with a double seam on the lockstrip for the front or rear window?

I'll call them tomorrow, to attempt to get the correct length sent out, but need some ammunition if anyone knows about the proper way to do lock strip.

Hi: Greg... One seam/join per window on our Boler!!! Ours have pulled apart slightly and you can see light thru the slit and water dribbles also...so I would certainly not want more seams in the rubber edging. Good luck.

An extra seam in the lockstrip will not cause a leak.

Greg is asking about the lockstrip, not the gasket Alf.

Won't cause a leak. The lockstrip just spreads the gasket out slightly by adding pressure and does what the name says "lock." Might not look as "professional" tho... that's a judgment.

Donna.....
You know your stuff
The Lockstrip only spreads out the gasket..... If it was the gasket then i would be worried.
