Thumbs down

Someone passed a great site on to me, yesterday, dealing with the Southwest. However, once I got looking on it, they have listings for most if not all of the nation. It is a really neat travel site, A National Register of Historic Places Travel Itineraries. Great information and neat photos. Using it, one can find and get a feel for some of the neat places in the USA with great stories connected to them. Here is the National page, it is even better than I first realized. Wonderful. Scroll down to below the map with a listing of places.

Once you find a place you want to know more about, be sure to click on the website found in the small print at bottom of each page. It will go to the location's web page.

Thanks! Al and Cindy K of Eastern NC.

some great stuff north of the border too. I can show you pictograms and carvings that are thousands of years old. some only a 10 minute paddle from where we camp all summer. I often think of how they got there... imagine some young brave who was supposed to be fishing but wasted a day painting animals on the rocks. then trying to explain to his dad where the fish are... funnier if you have a teenage boy at home.
