The Channel 6 weatherman gave a recipe for snow ice cream this morning. Looks like you have the makings (so do I).

I missed that. I'll have to check that out.
It's been an awfully long time since I've had snow ice cream.

Before what snow we got was too suspect to try........lol

Hi Carl,
It's a sin to get snow on that beautiful travel trailer. Hitch up and go south while the wind is in your favor. Very south by the look of today's national forecast.

Thanks David. Funny you should say that. My son just went home
back to Florida this last weekend. And I just told the wife I was
thinking about loading up the Snoozy and going to Florida by myself.
Think it's 75*-80* where he lives now.

Hi Carl. 8-9 inches of that $#$#$# white stuff over here at my house. Suppose to get to +1 tonite with wind chills about -10 to -15. Too cold, too soon. But, the Casita is in its enclosed pole barn with a cube heater hooked into an outlet in the barn.....my house is colder than the Casita since the heater has been on for at least a week....my elec. co-op will love me when I pay the next bill. Suppose to leave a week from tomorrow for a 6 week trip to NM, Az., and Texas......but am on pins and needles waiting to see if this west coast storm comes charging this way cause I do not drive on snow/ice....been there, done that, ain't gonna do it again unless absolutely necessary. Past couple of winters have spoiled me! Keep warm.

Lynn, I've signed up for the rally near Big Bend Jan. 13-16. In NM I hope to visit former neighbors and co-workers south of albuq. in the Los Lunas/Belen area. The other scheduled activity is Dec. 21 or thereabouts to be in Tempe, Az., visiting family for Christmas. Other than Christmas and Big Bend, I have no schedule......do want to visit old college friends in the Cottonwood, Az. area.....years ago we all graduated from NAU in Flag.. Would be nice to see Sedona, Oak Creek Canyon, and Flag again.

In Texas hope to do some birding as there are a few more birds I need to add to my life list, if I can ever find the list I started some 30 years back. Excited about whole trip.....sold a farm, farm equipment, and live stock this past summer to finally retire at age 70 .... the bucket list was getting longer and the amt. of time shorter. Anyway, have a loose schedule and an open map at this point for 6 whole weeks! The weather will be a big factor regarding my route(s). Do you have suggestions for Tx.?

Hey Carl, looks like you folks got a nice dusting. Probably just enough for the local store to sell out on snow saucers. Enjoy, Raz

Imo....check into Goose Island state park and Lost Maples, both in Texas. Friends of ours, Les & Jane from Michigan, volunteer at both leading bird watching walks. Goose Island will probably be in Feb and Lost Maples late March into April. L & J are very personable and very good birders.

yes winter is here! Try coming up to Edmonton, Alberta! we have had a brutal month with snow and cold. For the last few days we hit -32c or about -27F. The poor trailer is snowed in and will not move till spring(yes the roof is braced). The radio said that Manning Alberta was the coldest place in the world on Thursday!

We lack a lot of snow removable equipment, hard to find really warm clothing unless ordered via catalogues, it doesn't usually last forever so no one shovels or plows' a lot of our housing is not built for extreme cold. Lots of 4wheel drive trucks so livestock can be fed round bales. The threat of ice is the hardest to deal with and we get more ice than snow. Just learn to hunker down and check on neighbors.

It's "kinda" enjoyable this time.
Usually it will snow pretty good and melt right away
leaving a slushy mess and lots of mud. But temps are
so cold and staying there we'll have this picture for some
time. Just wish there hadn't been the inch of ice before the
3-5 inches of snow.

Wife got cabin fever so took her out to eat yesterday.
I thought sure the towns would have done something with
the roads. Well, not surprised they didn't, but still........
I even took the turnpike thinking it would be better.

There was a little snow pushed aside, but nothing done to
the ice. Most roads were just packed down with what traffic
there was. Now that I see what they haven't done to the roads,
I told the wife we were not getting out again until I see the pavement
in front of the house......lol.

When I was driving I always hated going through Kansas City.
They seemed to get nothing but lots and lots of ice.

EDIT: I'm thinking next spring and summer will be a lot more
enjoyable since this should do the needed winter "kill" on some
of the pesky bugs................Ain't global warming wonderful?....lol
