I stayed 2 nights at the Circus Circus KOA back in August, I think it was around $50 a night. It's definitely not camping, more like parking on a big hot asphalt parking lot with full hookups. The front office store was well stocked, and it's walking distance to Circus Circus, Treasure Island was about the furthest we walked. Basically you're paying for the convenience of being right on the strip.

Outside of LV is a town called Pharump. It is NW of Vegas, and about a 45min drive. It is also the gateway to Death Valley. They have a few good RV Parks. We stayed in that area last year for 3 weeks. I would go back as its a easy drive to Vegas and other areas of interest to us.

We've stayed in Pharump. It has an Escapee Park and the world famous Chicken Ranch.

Is that where the cowboys lay their eggs?

If U need more than 2 blankets then it's to cold where ever U may B.
Carol: I think the Chicken Ranch may be a bordello and if so, my remark would be considered a bit on the naughty side.

Actually, in winter, you'll need your furnace or an electric heater, at least at night, if not in the day. 34 degrees average night time temp.
Have a nice time. It's an interesting city. Not my kind of place, but interesting.

I spent a November weekend on the strip in Las Vegas and was glad I brought my winter coat and a couple of sweaters. The hotel room was warm.

Only planning on a couple of days in that area - have the furnace and will be packing the winter coat and boots as its starting to look like I might need them just to get out of here - keeping fingers crossing re getting back in time for Christmas.
hummm well I was thinking naughty when I wrote that but not that kind of naughty - thanks for the heads up!

We stayed at the Sam's Town RV park at the corner of Perry and Boulder in 2005. We tucked the Scamp 13 into one of the spots in the red circle in the attached image.

Hitchin' Post
Hitchin' Post in North Las Vegas. They have soft water, great bathrooms and showers and a good laundry too. Security gate and fence. Don't wander too far off from the park though. Gets pretty sketchy pretty fast around there. Lots of jets coming in and out of Nellis too. If you don't like fighter jets you won't like the Hitchin' Post. About $35 a night, 10% discount for Good Sam Club.

The one I liked is right beside Sam's Town south side of the Casino, the one that is iffy it's behind Sams town.
Personally I am not a fan of Pahrump! But will second Terribles........... It was a beautiful park. Though it was many years ago that I stayed there. Pahrump honestly is Brothels and Casinos, not much more. Cheap food, if your into that. But really not much else......

I've tried Sam's Town, Circus Circus, and Lake Mead.
Unless I'm going for the water at Lake Mead, I'd prefer Sam's Town.
When I go to Vegas for a weekend and can't get a bargain for a hotel room, Scamp and I stay at Sam's town. Quite a few other casinos on Boulder Hwy for those with the "itch". They have trees, and an area for pets, it's kept neat/clean, price is good, has shuttle to the strip, casino is close with lots to do (Bingo, Movies), good food, a few good stores to shop in, and Mystic Falls Park.
Circus Circus is expensive, not easy to get into, out of or around in. No trees for shade and if they give you a spot behind the parking garage you hear the beeps/horns from car alarms all night long.
