New EggCamper owner

For the past 3 months I have given serious thought to downsizing and getting back to camping basics and stop RVing. My current box trailer is listed for sale and today I purchased a slightly used 2007 EggCamper from one of your members. The Burgers from Illinois. They sold me their egg camper as they purchased a Class C for their Alaska trips. They will be bringing it to my house this weekend. Next weekend I plan on taking the "Eggstream" to Lake Erie for 5 days to check it out. I want to thank everyone here for their advice and input and this forum is a font of knowledge and a medium of exchange. Thanks again for keeping this place jumping. I hope to contribute more as I delve into the innards and workings of my new home on wheels. Jim

Oh, you got that beautifully decorated Eggcamper that I admired on the Eggcamper website!

Congratulations!

I'm glad the Burgers told you why they sold it. If I'm not mistaken they were the second owners of that EggCamper and hadn't owned it very long. I was wondering if there was something wrong with that particular one.

Congratulations, I hope you enjoy yours as much (or even more), than we enjoy ours.

anyone know if a new eggcamper comes with thick foam cushions like the above photo, or the very thin ones pictured on the company website?

I checked with Jim Palmer, the owner of Egg Campers and the cushions are thin like in the pictures but the 2011 will have some changes and the cushions maybe one of them. He also reiterated that contrary to some discussions, the Egg comes with a factory screen door.
Ray, I also verified with Jim that the Burgers were the original owners, purchased in early 2008 and used by them until early this year when they bought a ClassC for their Alaska trip. I'll double check that when I see the title.

Congratulations!!! Use it in the best of health!!!

I was wondering what you would decide. Please post your experiences camping in cold weather. I am very curious to know how the Egg Camper works for you!

And, the upholstery is so beautiful.

The reason I was thinking that they were the second owners is because (again, I think), I saw that camper for sale many (or at least several), months ago and figured the Burgers bought it at that time. It's likely they were the original owners and just didn't sell it earlier.

Yes, the cushions that the factory sell seemed too thin to us. My wife made the ones for our EggCamper out of some of the left over foam from our mattress (made out of a couple of king sized toppers that we glued together).

Yes they had it for sale earlier this year and then they stopped advertising and placed it for sale locally on consignment. Then I came along and asked about it although the ad was 2 months old and they said it was still available. So they were able to retrieve it and we made a deal. They will be delivering it tomorrow depending on the weather here, we supposed to get 4-5" of rain.

You will love your egg. I bought a burro in July and have 18 nights in it so far. It never fails to get noticed in the campground

Hey Jim! Do you know if the Burgers had the valances, cushions etc done at the factory or did they have to add those after they got it home? Is there a sink in the bathroom?

There is no sink in the bathroom and Pat Burger is quite the sewer/knitter/crocheter, she did it all her self. That is what is so nice about the Egg Camper, it is a "Do It Your" person's dream, there is so much one can do so easy!!!

Wow, I think Pat could make some extra $$$ making valances, curtains and quilts for Eggs. I know I'd hire her to personalize an Egg. She is "sew" talented!
