New Look

I opened this page this morning and felt a little intimidated for a second or two by the new layout. It seemed a little wierd to say the least!
After a few minutes I can see that it will take very little time to grow used to it, and learn to like it even better.
Thanks for all the hard work in keeping this site fresh.
You have accomplished a nice update without sacrificing that which was good, usable, and familiar.

As noted here we are still making small adjustments. Thanks for your patience and we tweak this a bit.

I'm always skeptical of changes to my cage, but this one seems nice

Soooo Much White Background. I looked for a way to customize my screen in my profile. I feel I need sun glasses to look at it. Just a softer white please.

Change is okay....but please give us a way to add some colour. White is away too harsh!

Holey Moley!

I too would prefer a less contrasty reading space.

Also, with the trend toward widescreen monitors, what is the reason for making the reading space more narrow? It only necessitates more scrolling.

Very clean, crisp and attractive. I love it!

Maybe a very light gray instead of the bright white background would be a little easier on the eyes, though.

Scroll down to the very bottom of the page.
Look in the lower left corner, below the "Posting Rules" access button.
There is a white menu access that now reads: --FGRV 2.0
Click the button to drop down the menu:
  • Quick Style Chooser
  • --FGRV 2.0
  • --Default Style

You can change the FGRV 2.0 to Default Style and your appearance will revert back to the familiar look.

Yes, a somewhat less BRIGHT background would be welcome. It's really bright.

I did that and am using it now. The reading column is very narrow, but at least I can stay on the forums for a while. After about 10 minutes, all that white literally made my eyes feel like they were going to start bleeding.... old eyes you know

Thanks for posting the click on default (I never would have found that myself), I was finding the new look a bit too harsh on my eyes, but I do like the new look.
