New Scamp...cost? Dealers?

So we've been shopping for a 13' Boler - with no luck after a year. It was suggested by a Boler owner today that I could buy a new Scamp for what he's spent on the restoration of his 1980 model.

Does anyone know the price of a new Scamp?

Any dealers in Eastern Canada?

How much can you customize, etc.?

Any new Scamp owners out there? Fellow Canadians?

Scamp does not use Dealers. You call the Scamp Factory directly to obtain a list of satisfied customers in your area willing to show their trailers, who get a commission for doing this IF their showing results in an order. You place an order directly with the Scamp factory. Your trailer will be built once the order is received. They have a "Custom Deluxe" trim level where you can pretty much design it exactly as you want it (for a price.) There is an option list to add to the Standard configured Scamp if you don't wish to spend THAT much money.

If you contact Scamp they will send you out a brochure with all the details including pricing for the base units and all options. Somewhere around here I have that and if I find it later today I'll post the base prices for you.

Melanie I looked for my brochure with the prices and was not able to find it. Everything is packed away as I roam around trying to find my next home. Sounds like Tony has you steered in the right direction. I'd still contact Scamp direct and they will give you prices and send you out a brochure with all the options and prices. Best of luck.

New Trillium?

I couldn't get in touch with Scamp today...then I realized it's a holiday in the US!

I discovered Trillium is making one in Canada - $14,900 base plus about $1000 for options (brakes and fan). I like that they have a fiberglass floor instead of plywood. It would cost another $2400 for shipping too. So it all adds up to over $20,000.

Does anyone have a new Trillium? Canadian version?

If I were to find an old Boler and invest $10,000 in the restoration - can you imagine that I'd get 20 years or so out of it?

If you put $10,000 into the restoration you shouldnt have any problem getting another 20 years out of it.As far as the plywood floor goes my '76 Scamp has the original floor and it is very solid so personally I wouldnt let that worry me.

IF your thinking of buying new you really should be looking at the Escape trailers they are Candian made and becoming very popular on both sides of the border./ Escape Trailer Industries > Home look at the owners forum for used ones. Pretty sure you could probable get one shipped out your way if you find one - talk to escape.

Thanks Carol - but I took a look at their website and it seems like they don't have a model that sleeps 4...and at 15', 1600 lbs, $18,600...it's getting up there.

I know that their 17' can sleep 4. I see that it is an option on the 17' plan B
Gaucho Bunk (200 lb capacity) 350.00
The 17' Plan A sleeps 4.

I didn't see that option listed for the 15' but I know that if you ask, they might be able to offer it on the 15' as well.

17' does sleep four and a few more used onces have started to show up on the market as people have been moving up to the 19'. Some of the used ones are going for less than a new 15' and some are not more than a hand full of years old. If you put all the options or standard equipment found on most of the Escapes onto a new Scamp I think you will find the prices are not that far apart if at all. The Escape IMHO is the nicer trailer regardless.
