New (to us) 2004 Scamp 16

In about 4 hours, we will be the happy new owners of a new 16 foot Scamp! If you remember my previous post, here:

http://www.fiberglassrv.com/forums/f...ase-81171.html

You know that we had ordered a layout 7 from Scamp, with a pick up date in July. But I was still watching the for sale ads, hoping maybe we could find something in good condition, for less, that we could use sooner - like this fall and late spring/early summer. We saw a couple of the size and layout come up for sale, but they were snapped up so fast, it made us glad we had simply ordered one, even if we had to wait.

Well, last week we saw this one come up for sale:
https://www.fiberglass-rv-4sale.com/...travel-trailer
and we were able to jump on it and be second in line. The first potential buyer decided they weren't interested but we still were!

The seller has been amazing to work with. He answered all of our questions, via email and phone, sent photos, a mechanics report, etc. My husband is meeting him this morning to pick it up and begin the 15-18 hour drive home.

It doesn't have all the bells and whistles we initially ordered from Scamp, but it has the layout we want, seems to be in really good condition, and we can always change or add things as we decide to.

We are SO EXCITED!! Let the camping season continue!!

Well done, Emily! I'm sure it will be as nice and cozy as Iggy before the snow melts. Sounds like you might get in some fall camping as well. Does it have a furnace?

I thought about you when I saw those same ads. Glad one worked out. That layout seems to be gaining in popularity, perhaps as more families discover the benefits of small fiberglass trailers.

Happy camping!

Thanks, Jon! It DOES have a furnace. Kyle might even get to try it out in Kansas tonight, as the lows might be low enough to need it The kids are on Fall Break next week, so depending on what the weather does here, we are going to try to take it to one of the State Parks for a couple of nights!

Thank you, Lisa! We are beyond excited. This little guy is everything we hoped that it would be when we said YES we want it!! The seller was fantastic, going above and beyond to show Kyle how everything worked and passing along all original documents. It is actually a 2005, so a year newer. We couldn't have asked for a better buying experience, especially since it was sight unseen and over 1000 miles one way. Kyle is still making his way home....I expect him around 5pm Mountain time. He stayed overnight at a truck stop in the pourning rain last night, and the Scamp was snug as a bug and water tight. I'm a little jealous Cannot wait to see it once he arrives home, but everything indicates that this was a fantastic purchase!
