New "Tug"

Hi: All... We felt it was time for a new TUG!!! At 160,000km's the '02 Sierra was starting the nickle and dime syndrome. This summer coming home from the Scrambled Egg Meet in Indiana I couldn't shut the truck off due to a weak battery. Then the universal joints developed "Arthuritis". So to help prop up a saging economy we made "The buying decision" of the decade. YIKES!!!
I'll try to post a pic. of "Our Escape Hauller"

Hi Alf S,

Nice choice of trucks. I just bought almost the same one. Your's looks like its the 6ft bed (long wheelbase). Mine is a new crew cab with the short bed, and white too! They are great trucks with lots of power. I bet it will tow great!

Congrats on your new purchase!

Hi: Dale AZ...Yep it's a S.E.4X4 long bed- long W.Base. We needed the extra length for the 5th. wheel trailer. Tomorrow she goes in to have the hitch put in her gigalong!!! WOW what a truck and "Made in America" too.

Wow, it sure is a lot like mine. I have a 2010 SE 4x4 also, but like I said its the shorter bed. Your long bed will be nice for the 5th wheel. Be sure to post a picture after you get the trailer hooked up, I bet they will look great together!

It looks like you might have a bed cover on yours? Is it hard or soft? How do you like it and what brand is it? Kind of thinking of one for mine, or I may go with a shell.

Anyway, YES you have a nice truck! Here is a picture of mine.

Alf
Looks a lot like my 2007 Frontier. Great ride with plenty of power.

Hi: Dale AZ... Yours looks familiar but shorter!!! Ours had the No Charge sport option which gave us the Nissan fold back tonneau and side step rails. We also inherited nitro filled tires and Nissan bug deflector as they were on it when our dealer found it near Toronto Ontario. All in all I'm really happy with "Our Escape Hauller".

Oh! Now that's lookin' good.
Finally colour coordinated, Eh?
Does it now get a matching Escape stripe?

Hi: james kent... I will have to ask Reace& Tammy if that's a possibility. They could send me one in the mail.
Buying a new truck at least gave me the choice of exterior colours.

Hi Alf,

Very nice truck! Love the matching colour with your trailer - the same striping really would put it over the top. I had seriously considered the Frontier and its twin the Suzuki Equator before going with the similarly configured, 4 door Chevrolet Avalanche earlier this year.

What did you do with your old faithful GMC?

Cheers,

Phil

Hi: All...And thanks for the comments about our new "Tug". I have done a lot of research looking into what to replace our 2002 Sierra shortbox. Most of the new domestic PU's. are too tall or the boxes are too deep. The small size PU's. are too small. Does this sound like "Goldilocks"??? We felt the Frontier 4dr. 5 pass. longbed long wb. would serve us best. Can't wait to get "Our Escape Hatch" out of storage and hooked up to tow!!!

My husband likes his white pickup because it stays cleaner longer though he did have to break down and actually touch it to get it clean this last time.

Ha..ha.. LOL! Well, that is exactly why I buy white pickup too. My last 4 pickups have been white.
