Hi, I can't find archives on this topic; please let me know where to find them if they exist. Otherwise....we are traveling from Vermont, via I87 in NY, via Trenton NJ and Wilmington DE to Florida, where we will be camping for five weeks. (Yay!)
We are hoping to find out which highways along that route will not welcome our lil egg.
thanks, Jess

I'm a native New Englander and never heard of any state or federal highways that ban trailers so, go for it any way you want to go After thinking about it there may be a couple of parkways but, I'm not sure about them

Baxter State Park has a width limit of eight feet and a vehicle + trailer length of 26 feet.

Hey, Holland tunnel folks in New York turned me back due to propane on trailer. Had to reroute to Geo. Washington Bridge. A nightmare in my case not knowing the area. Bill

I can't speak for certain about such restrictions elsewhere but I haven't, in nearly a half century of bopping about Florida, encountered any restrictions on trailer towing here.
Have a great trip.

Here is a link to a state-by-state towing laws...
State by State Towing Laws
Wow! Never thought of the tunnel and propane problem. They also have retrictions under a bridge near the airport. The bridge is on airport property and I doubt anyone would be towing their RV while dropping off a passenger at the airport...but you never know.

thanks all -- How about the Chesapeake Bay Bridge/Tunnel? (The southern one that goes to Virginia) Will they let us cross that with our propane tank? Thanks, Jess

Hi,
We really liked our route to Vermont...77 to 81 to 88 I think and over into Bennington...beautiful low mountain route and much less traffic and cities than 95.

I can't answer that specifically, but in general I think you will find that tunnels don't allow propane -- By definition, most tunnels start high, go down under something and come back up high -- That means that any lost propane will tend to collect in the bottom of the tunnel -- Only mountain tunnels that have the option to be higher on one end, or the middle, are likely to allow propane.
