Trailer: Scotty Hawaii-Lander

Well, we sold our Scotty Highlander last week, so i'm officially on the hunt for a fiberglass camper. i'm hoping to find something fairly local that is in need of some repair, as i'm on a tight budget right now. we're trying to redo some things in the house, so dropping a ton of money on a camper is not gonna happen. anyway, as luck would have it, i remembered a Scamp that i had seen, and tried to buy, not too far from our house years ago. at the time it was sitting in the owner's driveway and he wasn't interested in selling it. i went by there this morning before work. it has now been relegated to an area in the back yard behind the fence. i knocked on the door, but no answer, so i left a note on the front door. hopefully he'll call and i'll be able to get into it cheap. we'll see! it has an awning and everything. the outside is showing it's age from sitting out in the weather, but all i could really see was the roof from the other side of the fence. my fingers are crossed!

I'll keep mine crossed for you, too! Doesn't hurt to ask (as we saw earlier with the gentleman and the Perris Pacer he saw sitting lonely in a back yard!!)

As we drove to Kansas this past weekend and I saw all the campers sitting, obviously ignored (tin can types)---I felt a real sense of sadness. I'm as attached to my Perris Pacer as I am to my Element. This is spooky!

Good luck, Heathc!!

I'm a believer that things happen for a reason. If this trailer is meant to be yours, you'll get a call back. Otherwise the perfect trailer is still out there waiting for your to find it!

I too am a believer in what's meant to be will be...........

Be prepared, print off the buyers check list from here and take your eagle eye with you, a trailer that has sat around unused may also be uncared for and have some 'issues'. Even though you want a fixer-up it's nice to know what your getting yourself into and finding out before buying will help with the negotiating. I'm sure you have thought of all this - just a reminder.

good luck!

Penney
