It's sunny here! Damp but sunny.

The ash finally all got washed away.

The weather guys around here can help you determine your elevation this time of the year. They say things like snow, but only above 500'. Therefore if it snows at your place you know you're above 500', if it doesn't snow at your place you'll know you're below 500'.

We got a dusting of fine sleet last night, and it continues today but no real accumulation. What worries me is that the electric lines have a thin coating of ice. Fortunately our usual high plains winds seem somewhere else right now. Hope they stay that way 'til we get some melting weather. The generator stands ready but I hope not to have to use it!

Yeah, Robert, but you gotta admit that when you live on the plains (and love living there), this is just part of what makes it special. You know, hunkering down for the winter. Right?

It's sunny here, probably mid-60's or so, and we're having a bunch of friends over to BBQ: cross-rib roast, roasted garlic, roasted vegs, mashed potatoes, spring greens salad with glazed pecans, cranberries, feta and a raspberry vinegarette (which may be too raspberry-ie because I put both raspberry vinegar and pureed raspberries it). It's hard to think about decorating for Christmas on a sunny day when you're BBQing! But I do miss Co and the snow some days.

Well, it started snowing here (in buckets) around 10am. I was trying to put the Christmas lights up around the gutters of the house. It wasn't easy. Staring up into the sky with flakes coming down. When I got them up, I called it quits. Still have to put the lights in the shrubbery and run the extension cords, etc. Maybe tomorrow. Gotta watch the Oregon/Oregon State Civil War football game in about 20 minutes. Go Ducks!

We have both snow and sleet in Chicago. Kevin got the UHaul is all bundled up last weekend. Glad we aren't trying it this weekend.

You got me, Suz! You are dead right. Wood is cut and stacked by August. I start laying in my winter reading material in September. My project lists are posted on the kitchen cabinets. I get three Netflix DVDs a week (no TV here). Enough supplies on hand to last at least three months. I am set!

Parts of North Texas had snow on Thanksgiving, now it's just mild and drizzly.

Well, We have had snow for about two weeks. We think it is a great year. A little each day, adding up to about 8 inches +/-. We went skiing yesterday (downhill) we have not skied before Christmas let alone December before. We are skiing for a living this year so we hope the season continues like this.

Sunny and mid 50 s here (I think you're in a warm belt, Lisa.) I've been decorating because tonight is our annual Corgi Walk on Christmas Tree Lane and we end up back here for hot cocoa afterwards.

That's what these are for.

Actually, that old girl is semi retired, and has been replaced by something a little newer, and the ski-boose has been repainted.
