Oh the Weather outside is Frightful!

As of Tuesday morning we had gotten almost 6 inches of rain here in under 24 hours.

This is the storage lot where I am keeping the Scamp until I can make room for it at my house.

That picture is amazing enough?

You may be able to tell there is a small creek behind the RV's?

The Creek is less than 1 mile from the Meremec River which has risen almost 30 feet since Tuesday Morning.

They said I was crazy when I moved the Scamp out and 4 hours later the rest were trying to get out while in 2 feet of POOP water.

I lived a few miles from here during the 1982 record setting floods on the Meremec and the records look like they will fall to new ones on Saturday.

The spot where the Scamp was now is under a lot of water.I can not even get down to get a picture of it.

I have been watching our Canadian news and they are showing picturies and all from all over the USA on the bad weather down there. I hope all our members are ok.

Yup great weather.

Only bright side is the $$$ I just spent having water abatement landscaping done; got a real test. Passed with flying colors.

I was a nervous wreck the entire time. Been a long week.

On edit: Averages for rainfall in my area and south: 5 to 15 inches of rain. Yup, that's what I said. 15 inches of rain. Did the Amazon move north?

Fiberglass friends,
Another 6-10 inches of snow in Madison,WI. We've already had double the average snowfall and are nearing 100 inches for the season !
Can't believe we'll be Scamping in 6 weeks.

Well,
I got down near the lot this morning and everything near the creek is under water.
There were several hundred RV's and Mobile Homes along the creek in different parks and most seem to have been removed before the water.

The lot I use is right next to the creek and as Gina said,it is a nice little spot.I have slept there twice when I first moved the Scamp down there.

Now the water is at least 15 feet deep where I park.
The trashcan on the left in my earlier pictures is to the right of where the truck is under water in these new pictures.
There is a good drop-off right beyond the truck and then level gravel and then another drop-off to the creek.

The funny thing is that the park this is in has Mobile Homes right up against a busy highway where the monthly cost is the highest.
Then there are RV spots below those,isolated from the Highway by the Mobile Homes and then the Storage lot down by the creek,it cost almost nothing and it is by far the nicest part of the place......just not right now,unless you are a duck.

It is supposed to keep rising here until Sunday afternoon and will take a week or so to drop,we think.

glad your safe and dry! After the big flood here many many were homeless and still trying to recover... I was one of the lucky ones... not even a mile up I-5 did the flooding begin (south of me)
