Okies, what is. . . . . .

Is the time lapse for tagging a travel trailer in Oklahoma 30 days like a car, or does it have it's own time limit like [10 days]?

Picking up our trailer soon, but may not be back in time if it's not 30 days.

I've checked the state web site and can't make beans from it.

I finally got hold of a tag agency at the county seat.
It is 30 days in Oklahoma to tag a trailer, BUT........
They e-mail the specifics of a travel trailer to OKC to
determine what they what to value it at in order to
determine the taxes. Ugh! Our tax dollars at work?

I remember the day you paid taxes on what you gave for a used item,
but these days they tax you on the blue book values. Save on the purchase
but pay the ultimate tax. lol.

Wow that is horrible. In Tx we still pay taxes on what we paid for it based upon the BOS. Thats the pits if OK does that. My issue is that you buy something used and it gets taxed and taxed and taxed every time it passes hands. This is the General Chat forum so I guess its okay to say that sux. What if you had a hole in the side and bought a clunker for restoration? Doesnt seem fair.

Seems like many states are really good in areas and make up for it in other areas.

I'm young enough to remember when cars were taxed once.
Did I mention gas was $ .22 a gallon? LOL

Watched the movie "Guarding Tess" today.
Scene showed gas at $1.09 a gallon.

Likely because people were routinely getting a bill of sale showing a false low price, plus a separate receipt for the difference between that fiction and the price actually paid... just to be able to show the DMV only the lower amount to avoid tax.

When people abuse a system, the system gets more onerous for everyone.

Information is good. Lack of information is not so good, but misinformation is much worse. Check facts, and apply common sense liberally.

Isn't the Blue Book notoriously low for FG campers? That may work in our favor.

I think you're right on that. In this area, abuse of this was pretty huge.

That also would be a good thing.
But I think Lil Snoozy probably hasn't made it into any blue books.
I could be wrong. And I'd hate to have to try to compare it to another brand.

If the sales tax rate is less in the state you purchase it, pay there's.
