OMG Another Opportunity for a Back to the Future FGRV

Heads Up, start your own FGRV company
List Member Gail Frasier sent me this link for a 60's - 70's FGRV start up that apparently didn't make the cut.
Taking Bids.....

1960s travel trailers venture

Just to add, it's only about 50 miles from Scamp.....Hmmmmm....?

Umm... That is one but ugly trailer. The mold looks like it is impossible to get anything out. Do you have to disassemble the mold?

WOW... Sold on the 1st day of the ad????

I think that they look very 60's cool.

I hope that someone finishes out the yellow one, it looks like it's on a rolling chassis. Hope that they have the door mold.

Maybe the next person to visit Backus (Scamp) might want to look around the back storage lot..... LOL

No, I didn't buy them. A member on another trailer forum called and was told they were sold. Their origin would be an interesting story, as would be what happens to them in the future.

I have been studying the pictures. In the black material, there appears to be a wheel well, but no wheel well is apparent on the green trailer. There also seems to be a door in the black material, but it doesn't have the arched top, like the trailer. Weird.

It's also not very close to Backus, MN, either. The location is Ironwood, Michigan, which is about 240 miles east of Backus. Still an interesting proposition!

It would be fun to know how much the lot sold for. It's an interesting trailer design, but I doubt you could sell enough to make it worth your while - could be wrong.

I think they look pretty neat. Imagine how that would look behind a '57 to '59 Ford or Chevy. What was the asking price for the stuff?

Hard to believe that someone actually made the molds and molded a couple of bodies, but never finished them out. Why not at least get some investment out of the one's you've made? Strange.

The original ad said: "Taking Bids"
Apparently someone offered well over what they wanted and it sold on the first day of advertising, much like many FGRV's. LOL

I somehow guess that this was a case of someone cleaning out abandoned stuff from an old building just to get it empty. Maybe $500 did it, maybe $10,000 was the right price, we may never know. (I just hope it wasn't $500.... ouch)

I bet it is a fairly strong shell, with all the moulded features giving it strength. I would love to see one of these fixed up, and on the road. Heck, I would like to just buy a shell and play with the interior, maybe fixing it up real retro-like.

Hopefully a collector and not someone thinking this is an easy business start-up. BTW, what's TCT?
