On the road to...
South Carolina and expect to be there by Friday. Love to meet up with any of you who happen to be there. We won't be in our Egg Camper, though. Need the comfort factor of our Kodiak due to my wife's back whic she fractured in August, probably by just turning over in bed. Repaied but she still has issues.

We were in South Carolina last week, have now moved farther south into Georgia for December and January. Another near miss for us!

Good for you both. Twenty degrees here this morning. In a month I will think that's warm. .....
Oh, I wish I was in Dixie, hooray! hooray!
Safe travels, Raz

Thanks Raz, after living our entire life in the great Northeast, and in the same small area, we are enjoying spending the winter away from cold and snow, sitting on the beach. The question came up, "which would you prefer, a snow shovel or a sand shovel?" Tough choice isn't it! Think of the old Paul Davis song "Sweet Life"

Are you planning to spend some serious time in the SE, or are you just taking the scenic route to Arizona?

We're not going to AZ. We've spent 16 winters there and are tired of the desert. Don't know where we'll be or for how long. Want to dip down into northern Florida to Wakulla Springs. Went there a long time ago. Way back in the 1950s a movie, "The Creature From the Black Lagoon" was at least partially filmed there. Seems like I remember a lot of birds there. Will try to photograph them. A Quick trip without the trailer for a few days up to Indianapolis for Xmas with family and then back to our "adventures."

I remember that movie, it's a classic. We are doing the east coast of Florida to the Keys and back up the west coast in Feb.

Well, that sounds nice. I hope you enjoy the different scenery for a change. My folks used to take me to the Keys for a few days after Christmas, probably about 5 or 6 different years when I was growing up. It's such a nice change to see the palm trees, the blue ocean, the mossy trees in GA and N. Fla, and the fresh orange juice. Unlike my family trips, though, you do not have to return in January to an unplowed driveway... many a year we'd get stuck in the snowy drive trying to make it back in.
I'm seriously contemplating a drive to the FL panhandle after this Christmas. My holiday break is a little longer than usual this year, almost 3 full weeks. Unless there's a cold snap down thataway, maybe I'll be on the beach for New Year's.

At Charleston in an RV park kinda in the boonies (??). Supposed to be about 12 miles from downtown. We'll start playing tomorrow. Yesterday we bought gas at a Murphy Oil station with $2.989 posted. With our Walmart Discover credit card we got it for $2.839. The 15 cents discount is effective through Dec 24.

Last time we were in Charleston we went to see the Civil War sub Hunley, went to Fort Sumter, went on an aircraft carrier that I never can remember the name of, and it may be Boone Plantation that's near by that we went to. Also did the trolley tour and bought a basket from some lady weaving them as she sat on the sidewalk. But we like Savannah better!

It's the USS Yorktown aircraft carrier (decommissioned as a museum). We like the market downtown and Foley Beach is a short drive.
