Here's another suggestion for an easy-access stay: there's a little-known Oregon City-run RV park just off exit 9 on I-205. (South end of 205)

It's called Clackamette Park- 25 acre park total, right at the confluence of the Clackamas and Willamette rivers. The RV section is right on the Willamette- six or seven water/electric sites are waterfront. Rates/details at this link.

Very pleasant Park, though one does get some traffic noise from the nearby 205 bridge that crosses the Willamette.

Clackamette is more an open parking lot kind of place, tho it is in a city park setting elsewhere on the property. It is not so unknown anymore. I always see a lot full of big rigs in there.

Follow up to my one night trip to Champoeg Heritage Park

Thanks for the tip about Champoeg Heritage Park. It was a perfect stop for my purpose, very clean, level, heated bathroom, and very quiet.

However, it was 17 degrees when I left and the 160 miles home took over 10 hours because of snow and traffic problems.

On one stop I tried to get something to eat and wacked an unseen curb and bent the tongue lift.

The jack is back on now and not damaged.

Glad you got home safe and relatively sound Dave. Champoeg IS a nice park, Spring NOG will be held there the end of April. Since it's continuing to snow in Portland... Spring can't get here soon enough!

I was wondering if you actually made it, or decided to bag it this time. How was the show? I wanted to go, but wimped out..just cause.
