We spent the last two days dry camping at the Tampa RV SuperShow, which was tons of fun (one night, two Olivers, the second night we welcomed a really nice couple in a Casita from Washington state into the egg corner of the field).

We saw the usual hohum stuff, a lot of big motorhomes, more nice new small, inexpensive travel trailers than in past years, and a truly unique part molded, part laminated fiberglass custom trailer, The Galileo.

Outside, it is very modern and sleek-looking, and inside, it uses the space well and beautifully. If you get a chance to tour one at an RV show near you, it's worth the minutes to take a peek. The interior was innovative, clean, beautiful, and put even the higher end Airstreams to shame, in my opinion.

I'm not good at links, so google "galileo travel trailer" and you'll see what I mean. It is not inexpensive, but everything is custom, with a sleek, European style finish. 5 or 6 people would truly be comfortable seated for dinner at the banquette plus jump seat, and there was nothing missing in appointments. Great storage. Lightweight. The display model (already sold) came with a solar panel. Smallish at 21 or 22 feet, tip to tail, and 7 and a half feet wide. Huge, useable storage bumper, in a real bumper position with the spare tire underneath like an Airstream.

Your recommended search worked fine. I could not get past looking at the outside, made me think of avocodo appliances and bleeding madras shirts. This will look really dated some time soon. Might be a great interior but I immediately thought toy hauler with a big back door.

No avocado, no bleeding madras.
Instead, a timeless, elegant Euro design interior.

As I said, if they show up at a show near you, you may want to take a few minutes to step inside and see what I mean.

Links are easy! Up at the top of the box you are typing your Post/reply etc next to the Icon scroll down, there is a lime Green plus sign. Click it a box pops up, paste the link in there, hit ok, another box pops up, just name the link and hit ok.

Beautiful trailer, I wonder what it weights? I couldn't find it listed anywhere. Very nice though!

The lighting in the interior shots make it look like a cave. I work in a windowless environment and crave sunshine. The lack of front and rear windows would be the deal killer for me. When camping in a state park or anywhere there are other trailers, looking out the windows the only thing you'd see is what's parked beside you, not what's behind you where maybe you've backed into a beautiful spot overlooking a lake, etc.

It's always about floorplan.... for me.

It's amazing what an additional four feet make. Very spacious looking. And, at 6'4" tall, I always appreciate a camper I can stand up in without having to hunch over.

I think its nice and will definitely find a market but its not really who we are, The 90" width and the weight puts you in line for using a large SUV or PU truck tow vehicle.

No front or back windows would be a deal breaker for me. When I camp, I don't want the only view I have is of the rig parked next to me.... no matter how far away.

Sherry -

As the owner of a Bigfoot 21, the size, layout, pricing of the Galileo doesn't offend me at all. Like you, I think it has very high visual appeal both inside and out.

In comparing it to a Bigfoot 21, I observe the following:

- The aerodynamic front not only looks great, but it should cut the wind resistance much better than a Bigfoot with the relatively flat front.
- The price is about $10,000 less than the last advertised price I could find for a new Bigfoot 21.
- All the tanks are larger than the Bigfoot tanks.
- Seating is much more substantial in the Galileo
- Nicer bathroom sink with countertop space in the Galileo
- Way better bumper on the Galileo
- Very eye-catching look

On the minus side:

-About 10" narrower than a Bigfoot, slight reduction in interior space
-Probably not a 4-season trailer, or they would advertise as such
-Galileo weighs about 1000 lbs more than Bigfoot 21, not sure why
-Lack of front and back windows would reduce interior light and views as Donna said
-The floor plans shown for the Galileo don't feature a full-time bed

All that being said, the Galileo has such a great look I wouldn't rule it out as a future purchase. I hope the company does well and maybe will offer a few new layouts or cold-weather upgrades at some point.

Another trailer I just saw at an RV show recently was an Earth-Roamer. It,too, had a fresh new look that really stood out in a sea of RV's that were basically large white boxes. It's good to see innovation in this industry.

WOW!

I saw one of these on a parking lot as I was driving through Clovis, NM in February. I was in my cross country driving mode and I was in the wrong lane to easily stop. I spent the next 10 miles telling myself that I should have stopped for a closer look and debating whether to turn around and go back. The farther I got the more I realized I had made a mistake. I didn’t know what the brand was and I have spent the intervening months wondering about it.

The shape of that front is phenomenal. It would pull easily with a properly set up ½ ton pickup or SUV with a gasoline engine. I have been pulling Bigfoots since 2004 and I love them but that flat area on the Bigfoot front does catch wind.

I agree with the others that it needs more windows. If they can fit a curved car or truck windshield into that front without destroying the aerodynamic shape or the strength of the structure they will have a sure winner. It would be easy to install a flatter window in the rear. I would also personally prefer a 4 season insulation package.

I predict we will see a lot of these in the future.
