Orca Trailers

IF, I was looking for a tiny molded trailer that's a bit bigger than most teardrops, but along the same lines... I'd consider the Orca Trailer. Needs windows and obviously you'd do all the meal prep and eating outside. But still, it's cute!

They look like motorcycle trailers, is that what they are designed to carry? Is the inside finished?

I could really use one of those if it were a little larger. I need about 12'x6'x6' instead of 9.5'x5'x5'. Anyone have an enlarging ray?

While they do make one for camping obviously.(tent integrated) I don't see these even coming close to competition with a tear drop. They look smaller than a tear drop and don't provide a kitchen area.

These seem to be made for cargo use primarily.

Looks quite a bit bigger than a tear drop to me. And how many times have we read where people prefer to cook outside on the picnic table? I certainly didn't mean it was for everyone, but sometimes people with limited tow capacity need to think outside the box.

Key Information

Size 5’ x 9’
Gross Weight 750Lbs
Max Load 2,250
Axle 2,950Lb Torflex
Wheels 15 Aluminum Mag Rims

Overall Height 78”
Overall Length 162”
Overall Width 80”
Hitch Weight 75Lbs
Coupler 2” Automatic QuickBite

I'm not going to argue, and you seem like a large contributor to the site, which is awesome. Your first post in this thread is really misleading. It almost seemed like an advertisement. I looked at little guy teardrops, specifically the 5 wide model. It meets or beats it in overall size and still weighs under 1,000 pounds.

I also wonder if these Orca trailers have the ability to be opened from the inside. I would just feel like I'm stuck in a coffin.

We're good Alex. I'm just always looking for stuff on the web and the size/weight of the Orca might suit those that really need to tow light, but aren't interested in a tear drop. With the top opening/back opening hatch... it wouldn't be the greatest in the rain. It's not for me, but it might be for someone else. And at least it's molded so would fit this "towable molded" forum.

Donna is like me, just sharing interesting stuff we come cross. And we've had members asking about converting cargo trailers on the forum here in the past. Those folks are on the lookout for cargo trailers to build their own interiors. Cheers.

I try to think outside the box when need fit meets functionality (and budget). Years ago we had a new member Cathy Mutch join us. She had a converted all-molded fiberglass cargo trailer she and her Dad had converted into a travel trailer. She's no longer around, I don't think she felt really welcome... which is too bad. Cool trailer! Check out her album. Pictures by catrinka613 - Photobucket And remember, even if it's not for you... it was for her, and it fits this forum of all molded fiberglass towables. There's a couple of brand of currently manufactured molded travel trailers that are great for someone other than me. But I still welcome their participation in these forums....

Now that is neat, I wonder where she got that. It's a precursor to Lil Soozy. My first trailer was a toy hauler and if it had a bathroom I'd still have it. You can open the back and get a add-a-room and sit on the veranda, it was real nice.

I see chariotmanufacturing has many cargo trailer options like shower and galley. A bigger front galley photo is on their page. Rear screen door too for skeeters.

“L” Galley with complete buildout Including:

Pressure or Hand Pump water systems
Hot and Cold Water
Fresh water -Waste Holding Tanks
Built in Fridge
Generators -Batteries
Deluxe Electrical packages
Bunk Beds
Electric Overhead Beds

That Ironhorse definitely has potential-
I could see adding canvas at the top of the upper opening panel, like on some of the pop-tops.
According to their page at Specifications of the Ironhorse Trailer, Flip Top motorcycle trailersMotorcycle Trailering, there's 7 ft of headroom when it's open.
But- YIKES!
According to this ad for a used one, they cost almost ten grand new...
http://www.ronsradrides.com/browse-a...glass-trailer/

That's a lot of money for a "good start"...

A bare, empty Snoozy shell is about $9000 also, if I recall correctly. Hm, the Ironhorse has potential. Maybe I need to watch for a used one, that one you linked to sold for under $5K.

Anyone know who makes the trailer that Catrinka has?
