Ordered Scamp 16 Deluxe B

After a wonderful year of camping in our 13' Scamp we have decided to, as of today order a new Scamp. Many reasons for getting new but the big reason for us is this what we want to retire in and travel.

We spent some time reading ideas from others and found many helpful hints on what to get and what to leave off.

Now the hard part, waiting.

Sometime in December for delivery crossing fingers.

Thank you k0wtz. We are looking forward to it.

So does anyone have suggestions with a pickup date of December on the new trailer how to do a proper "shakedown" in cold weather? My guess is we won't find a campsite open to stay overnight for power. Of course I can test all 12 volt items. For the water system I am guessing a few gallons of RV antifreeze. Just trying to makeup a checklist of things to look for, as our drive is 1,300 miles.

Thank you for any advice.

BTW
Just read that scamp issues a 30 day tag.
We do have Gordon2 list of things to always have. :-)

I made the trip in late Sept. 2014 from PA, I hope the weather is good for you. Nice ride as long as you stay away from Chicago. Carl

I wish we had a Sep trip we could stop more places but sort of worked out this way, that whole money thing.
You are so right about Chicago, will have to travel past the city late at night to miss traffic.

Do you have to pick it up in December ?
I'm sure you want to get it as soon as you can but the weather can be pretty crappy actually dangerous, especially pulling a camper that time of year
I live 45 min from the scamp factory, so if there is anything I could do to help you out when the time comes, give me a holler I could camp in it the first summer and let you know if there are any problems............hee hee or you could "camp" in my driveway to test your systems before you head back home !
Ohhhhhhh the anticipation.........
So happy for you !!!

We are crossing our fingers for the weather and driving to work out. I did mention our worry about the amount of possible snow and driving so we might be able to change it a bit.

Thank you for your offer! We will keep it in mind as I am sure no campgrounds are open at that time of the year. :-)

Your welcome, would be no problem running a power cord and filling you with water for a test run !
