our most recent trouting trip

we just returned from our 3 day trouting trip to Bennett springs mo. I had at least 3 inquiries regarding our little 13 foot scamper. Funny I saw a 16ft casita roll into the campground but I couldn't find it.

they all wanted to look inside and check things out! Sort of made us proud to be able to show off a 95 old rig to people. So many questions sort of cut our fishing short but each one was told to check fiberglass rv for information and the classified sections.

each and everyone of them wrote it down and were going to look to learn about our fiberglass campers!

We get the same inquiries almost everywhere we go especially at gas stations.

I find it kind of fun and just part of the program. It seems like these trailers are rare which they are not, but since no one camps in the city most people don't see them.

The 13 foot trailer is unique, since it is so much smaller on the outside than on the inside. Outside it looks to be 4x4 feet and inside 6x10 feet or bigger if you don't have a bathroom.

Kind of like Hermiones purse.

Love that expression! "Smaller on the outside than on the inside!"

Or a T.A.R.D.I.S. - bigger on the inside than the outside!

trouting success

well first 2 days were rough 20d thats pretty cold to be setting outside but trouters will go to any lengths for fish!

we are not expert fishermen we snagged 10 our limit was 16 but the adventure is so fun and we get to meet people from all over the country. one couple and children were there from texas of all places!!

I saw a guy he must have been indian who must have caught 30 fish in 4 hours I went so far as to set next to him. me not much luck.

ready to go back out there again in a couple of weeks

That Indian feller in the summer when the weather and water is warmer probably went out there and dug a 10 foot around hole 3 feet deeper than the Lake / river bed in that spot and only fishes in that hole.

If your not in that hole you don't catch anything. Watch out trying to take is fishin hole too he probably planted poison Ivy all around his spot.

Gotta watch those smart fellers.

one other thing

steve here in mo we have 2 choices we can throw those flies wading or we can bait fish using minners, lures or powerbait.

our style is powerbait on a fishing bridge or bank fishing. we bridge fish at our age its easier on us as we can set in easy chairs. this guy sets in a high director chair I am beginning to wonder if he is seeing the trouts in the water?

it gets discouraging when he limits out and we haven't caught any!

Next time, ask him if he'll give you some pointers. Maybe he has a bait or technique and maybe he will share knowledge of it. Doesn't hurt to ask.

Its ok, I am a fisherman too. Not a catcherman. I think I fail because my stomach is always growling. I would starve to death in 5 days if it relied on my fishing skills. I did find out early in my life that fish comes in a can. I can catch that and I have the skills necessary to be able to get the can open, even when the took the key off the cans.

Went fishing with a friend of mine one time. He set me up in the front of the boat, told me where to cast and where to bring it back. After 5 min of trying he would say "I think there is one there." He would cast once, get the fish, and then say "I thought there was one there." He did that for 8 hours! I never caught one, he always caught it on the first cast. Some people just have it, I think I don't
