Pete Dumbleton Memorial (Project)

Just starting a new thread...sort of a spin-off from the original WA State get together also on this board.

It has been suggested that we add an additional camp-out weekend for WA State campers, (it is not neccessary to be from WA State, all are welcome at our events,) in honor of the memory of Pete Dumbleton who recently passed away, somewhat unexpectedly to most of us. It was a shock to learn of his passing, as few of us knew his health was waning.

Anyway, so that it doesn't become interspersed with the original get-together, I have opened a new thread to discuss this specific topic.

This thread is open to all suggestions as to dates, venues, etc. which would benefit the majority of folks, (Hey, we already know that you can't please everybody all the time, so here's a chance for those unable to make the original camp-out to speak up.)

Just thought I would give this a one-time "bump" to keep it from falling off the page. So far there hasn't been any feedback on this topic. If there isn't any interest for this proposal, I'll just let it fade into oblivion...

I was wondering if there might be other ideas out there?

Maybe people who cannot attend a Washington State (Pete's Home) Campout would like to attend something, or propose something? While Pete lives on in all FiberglassRV membership hearts and minds, is there some appropriate way to "mark" his passing? Did we do an adequate memorial in his Notification of Passing Post?

I would love to be able to attend a camping trip in his honor but can not make it to Washington.

I was thinking of making a donation to the Oral Cancer Foundation in his name. Maybe we could do a group donation. If several people donated even a few dollars it would add up to a nice tribute.

I am also thinking of naming a kitten ( I have a foster litter right now) after him, don't have any rats! He would find the that very ironic!

I don't know...anyone with any other ideas? Maybe this should be moved to the general board so more people can see it.
