Tema

While searching for a picture of myself I found this one of Tema. I've already posted her before, but this is a better picture. :)

Doesn't this sound true?

If you can start the day without caffeine or pep pills,
If you can be cheerful, ignoring aches and pains,
If you can resist complaining and boring people with your troubles,
If you can eat the same food everyday and be grateful for it,
If you can understand when loved ones are too busy to give you time,
If you can overlook when people take things out on you when,
through no fault of yours, something goes wrong,
If you can take criticism and blame without resentment,
If you can face the world without lies and deceit,
If you can conquer tension without medical help,
If you can relax without liquor,
If you can sleep without the aid of drugs,
If you can do all these things......

Then you are probably the family dog.

(I needed a three-dog smilie, but it wasn't on the smiley board.)

My co-driver

After the recent problems with pic uploads, I'm a little nervous about trying again but... here goes. Besides-- this thread deserves to be revitalized from time to time.

This is my partner and co-driver Murphy. I know! I know! He's a Rottweiler. (I get so tired of people blaming HIM (and ME) for problems created by Bad Owners with Nasty Dogs!)

Murph is one of the Good Guys. He lets small dogs bite him without retaliation and allows wee children to pull on his ears--when I'm not watching. He's patient, intelligent, communicative, playful, and loving. Stays in the trailer or truck without complaining while I'm working. Always glad to see me, even if I'm late. Likes to watch me cook and always warns me when he sees the Golden Arches. (Has become quite fond of their plain $.75 burgers with a fry or two!) He's just all-around great company. Very protective of me, but hey-- he thinks that's his job. Well trained to voice- and hand-commands.

Loves his Casita, too, and is visibly jealous and possessive when one of the other dogs (we have four) goes inside for an unauthorized look-see.

OK, folks: times for more furry pal pix from you-all! (BTW, I'm uploading this using IE5 for Mac instead of NS4.7.)

Robert

Yet another confirmation that NS4.7 just won't cut it anymore (upgrade those browsers!) Murph is a beauty - one of my favorite breeds. Great picture! :)

Thomas & Janifer

Yes, he does. He also plays checkers, but he's not really that smart because I can beat him three out of four games.

Rotties

Hey, Robert. Murph sounds like a cool dog. We've been acquainted with a couple of other sweet Rottweilers - but your Golden Arches claim is a new one! (I do believe it, though; it's amazing what a smart dog can figure out! That's one reason our Zina NEVER gets a nibble of a sandwich or anything else that's on MY plate!)

What, Jana? You think Murph can take Robert 50 percent of the time?

Our Adoptees

Here are Cricket and Cosmo. Guess which is which. A hint, Cricket is also known as Dirty Girl. She loves to just kick back and roll in the dirt, so I included one of her looking a little neater. The one of Cosmo was taken at Ralph River on Vancouver Island. (If you know that area, you may notice that the picture is reversed. Don't know how that happened). They both love the trailer, but only come inside for cookies and hanging out in the evening, then they move to their quarters in the 4Runner. We've also camped with a bird or two, but only have the two dogs now.

New family addition

I got Danny from the Grant County Humane Society. He had been in jail for a while, but went his bail.

He's a mix. His wardens called him a Golden Retrieve/Chow mix. I don't see either in him. He looks part Basenji to me, but he can bark.

He's about a year old and weighs 35 lbs (15.88 kg).
