Such pretty kitties and doggies!

I love looking at everyone else's companions. I got Blackjack for search and rescue and we trained in it for a year and a half. I had to quit for foot surgery and needed something to keep us working together - flyball! Leaving for Binbrook in Ontario tomorrow night to compete in a tournament with several of the fastest teams in the world. 'Course we're racing their sixth string! Our tournaments have 10-15 teams - these guys have 85 teams coming:crazy-ii ! Poor Scamp has to stay home :sad - 7 people and 11 dogs. For our next trick we want to try dock diving but it doesn't seem to be around here yet. Don't think BJ would like herding - he'd probably try to play with the little sheepssies!

Red Niklas

This is my traveling companion most of the time....
He's really not a sissy, despite the ribbon.

working dogs

Hi Deb,
I is sure fun to see everyone's different travel companions.
There is a couple who travel to the sheepdog trials ( a stick built) who have taken a small monkey with them for years.
Only recently has the monkey become too agressive towards strangers and has to stay home. She got replaced by a rat terrier!
If you are interested in herding trials, here is a site to get you started.

Thanks Bonnie

I will have to look into that. I helped videotape some Police Dog field trials in '88 when they were in St. Cloud, and I loved it. So much that I quit my job to do it (wasnt a very good one, so it was a good excuse). I guess I fell in love with it then. And it was a blast. I have great respect for working dogs of any kind. They love to work more then anything. (A bit like my husband, insane as that is.:wak )I try to get in as much "dog stuff" while on vacation as possible.

Speaking of, has anyone been to the dog museum in St. Louis? I want to go, but why does it have to be in ST. LOUIS? Or how about the war dog museum in Riverside CA.? I almost made it there the last time I was there, but ran out of time.
