Make it five, as I rarely go to the homepage so had no idea as to how long the same photo had been in place.

Don't think I'd ever seen the homepage (except maybe the first time I ever logged on to the website). My 'bookmark' just takes me directly to the forums. Really doesn't matter to me but I polled for change...

Using the Fiberglassrv app on an iphone it opens directly at forums, no sign of the web homepage or at least mine does.

OK, I guess I thought the "home page" was the screen with the illustration of an egg camper in front of 4 leaning pine trees.

Information is good. Lack of information is not so good, but misinformation is much worse. Check facts, and apply common sense liberally.

My page goes right to the forums also but maybe we could feature everyone's trailer at on time or another.

I'm surprised at how many members don't use the home page- there's a lot of information there!
It's the only way to get to the document center, for example....and certainly the main portal for visitors.
The front door, so to speak.
The funny thing is, the only reason that the current picture is there at all is because it happens to be the one that was up when the site "froze up" with the (old) "new" software. Is that any way to choose a permanent picture???
It's not like someone pawed through hundreds of pictures searching for Just The Right Thing for permanent display! It was chosen for the same reason that all its predecessors were: it's a nice picture, at that time the latest of many to be displayed on the home page.
Heck- even Brian Van Snell (the guy that submitted the present picture) says so!

It might be a good idea to use this method to find a replacement photo.

No, it's not. Pull down on the tab that says "More"

This website is much like many of our trailers.

Actually, the portal to the Document Center is also at the top of this very page! To the right of the "Manufacturers" tab is the "More" tab. Place your cursor over that tab and the entrance to the Document Center is revealed!
Everything on the home page is duplicated somewhere on the Forums Start Page, the page where you actually log in and log out, which is the "Real" home page of the modern "FiberglassRV; a Subsidiary of Social Knowledge LLC."
For all intents and purposes, the "Home" page is nothing more than a facade, the legacy of the previous website owner. Much like the retained facades of historic buildings in Washington DC, The Home Page is the preserved remnant of the original website, hand built by the Previous Owner and run as a sole proprietorship. The present Corporation kept the home page, but rebuilt everything else new, much in the same way that many of us do a frame-off restoration of our trailers with all new materials but incorporate the vintage molded shell into the new design.

I too just have the forum page bookmarked. I still use default style and Docs are in the left tab.
I just visited the HP for a refresher and it does look like a nice clean "front page". Great for newcomers . Nothing but an extra click for regulars. If admin wanted us to visit it, a rotating album (weekly?) could work. It would be nice to compile this album anyways. Just some selected nice shots of rigs in scenery. No people, mods and clutter. IMHO

Well, they evidently didn't "keep" the ability to change the picture! Or perhaps, as it's beginning to appear, the inclination...
I'm actually surprised that this is a subject of controversy. It's come up often enough that I really had the impression that the three year tenure of that picture was/is just an oversight on the part of Site owner Andy Rabinowitz and his marketing team, who is/are very engaged with most of the other sites they own/manage.
One would think that if nothing else, they'd view that spot as a tool to be marketed/used according to the audience they're trying to attract advertisers for.
But if instead it's meant to be at least semipermanent and at the same time to convey an impression of the historical interests/purpose of these Forums, it may be appropriate to consider a picture of, say, the oldest Boler in the registry. Or perhaps a picture of the trailer of the original site founder...
Whatever!
Francesca

Now we're cooking with gas!
As we've tried to explain on several occasions, without making a big deal of it, there is a glitch in the Home Page update procedure.
All of us on the Moderating Team would love to be updating the Home Page photo(s) on a regular basis, per Des Nolan's reminiscence of how it used to work. If it were an easy fix, it would've been done.
But it's not (an easy fix), so we're happy with some of the other "new" system features, such as the Trailer Registry and gallery pages...

Thx Mary, Though I mentioned that it would be "nice". I'm sure most of us understand the large amount of work that goes into keeping this site so awesome . Keep it up and if you ever replace the home page it'll be a bonus...apposed to an expectation.

I think the Moderating Team does a fine job...but it sounds as if the technical team could use a little help.
Can I be of any service?
I have lots of experience- though I admit this is slightly outside my usual specialty, that being Beverages/Energy Supply:
