Poll: New Home Page Picture...Please????

Hi, Y'all...

Not that it isn't a simply divine picture...but does anyone besides me think it might be time to Petition The Powers That Be to switch out the trailer pic on the Homepage for something else???

That picture has been there so long that the manufacturer has a link to it
on THEIR home page!

I think it's been at least three years...and several software changes...surely there's at least one picture among the thousands in the registry that would serve.

I mean, sheesh...I think we're the only horse in the Social Knowledge stable that hasn't had a new one for so long...heck, even The Royal Forums got a face lift in the last software change! What does the Royal Family of Luxembourg got that we ain't got???

Don't answer that question......But:

Please vote now in my Very Scientific and multiple choice poll... just in case we have anything to say about it!

Francesca

It's not every trailer foto that so perfectly captures the hobo jungle experience of camping. I say keep it; maybe replace the Escape with a retro tow and tug.

Hi: Francesca Knowles... At least Escape's home page pic. keeps on a changin'. Why can't we have a changing selection from the "Registry"??? I'm sure the technology exists!!!
Here's a pic. from the 2013 Escape Calendar. Note there's no staple holes in the belly band either!!!

the Other category suggested by Rabbit gets my vote...

Does a 21 one year old trailer camping in winter 2000 miles from home fit the vagabond type of photo needed?

That is an awesome photo ( Carol H above ) .... and there are probably many , kind of like what Alf S. seems to be saying " rotating photos " but that option is not on your survey .

Hi: bec... We used to have rotating home page pic's. and it was up to a moderator to pick 'em. I think they're too busy now keeping the peace and sorting the wheat from the chaff.

oops didn't know that .....sort of tech challenged ... and tend to think everyone else knows just what to click and make magic . Had not actually occurred to me that the ever rotating photos on the Escape website required monitoring , just thought it was downloaded and set on a rotation .

Happy New Year to all !

How hard can it be to change one picture????

Anything different would at least be "different"- and if it's an older trailer, which is after all most of what this site's about, so much the better.

Last time this came up, Mary F. said there were difficulties with the new software...but that was eighteen months and another software change ago!

I think it's just slipped someone's mind...

I'd like to see one of Ollie's sketches replace the current logo.

I've been examining the Poll results so far, and a disturbing trend is apparent that I think needs to be addressed ASAP:

How come only one person thinks that the Royal Family of Luxembourg agrees with them?

If you want specific things like portapotties on the home page, I'm afraid you'll have to petition the site...

I'm just askin' for a little variety every so often...

Hi: Francesca Knowles... I don't know any members of the Royal Fam. De Lux.
What I do know is that Escape has many other models to chose from and their own specific to the brand Forum.
Maybe you needed more multiples of choice. Seems the powers to be have taken note of the poll tho.

That's the one I would pick. I do appreciate the efforts of the administrators and moderators, but I never look at the home page - I just go straight to the forum.

Information is good. Lack of information is not so good, but misinformation is much worse. Check facts, and apply common sense liberally.

That makes at least three! Me, Mike and Brian. I too never go to the home page and figure anyone that just finds out about FiberglassRV and lands on the home page hasn't seen that picture before so how would they know how long it's been displayed.

Hi: Donna D...Put me in forth as I too pass over the Home Page and go straight to the Forums. A funny thing happened on the way to the Forum...I noticed the Home page pic. hadn't changed so I just take a pass on it!!!
Even Ipsos read can put out polls that are weighted in favour of one side or other.
Yes the Moderators and administrators do a fine job...I wouldn't want to do it

It is more effort for the much appreciated Moderators to select and vote on worthy candidates for "Home Page Photo", and probably less profitable for the site's new owners to spend time changing it every-so-often, but, in the olden days we did look forward to seeing what various members had done with their rigs and the wonderous camping locations they had found. And to have your FGRV featured was a real thrill.

And while we are at it, those "random shots" with no explanation and often poorly photographed are probably worth dropping.

Thanks Francesca, for bringing this matter up.
