I think that like MANY "concept' things it will differ significantly if/when it gets to production.

I agree TOTALLY that is appears un-aerodynamic.

BUT the "concept" of cell construction - adding prefab cells to make a unique coach does have merit. Think it thru.....

And the cells would be held together with? Butyl rubber and rivets? Stainless steel bolts?

Editor of squob.com here, great to see healthy discussion about the Mehrzeller travel trailer!

I wondered if anyone here is aware of the Concord fiberglass travel trailers from New Zealand? They were cult items in the 1970s, and the original molds apparently still exist. Rumours abound that production may start up again:

Cam A That is a neat looking rig! A Picasso cubistic egg or the antithesis of our eggs! However, I believe it should be wind tunneled tested before it is taken out onto the highways. It just might be invisible on radar as well. But it might have a little to many sharp edges inside, but if they were padded, it might not be a health hazzard.

Chris Squob, I am glad you found this forum as well! Moldered fibreglass caravans RULE for sure.

The New Shasta by Coachmen is the antithesis of the Mehrzeller, very retro on the outside and pretty updated inside. And it is not just a drawing and has a price tag. Edit add: upon looking at the Shasta interior, I believe the interior is more Art Deco (retro as well) which makes it look almost futuristic. Very nice look inside.

Yea, it does look like a rock formation! But where are the windows? What's the point of being in the great outdoors if you can't SEE the great outdoors? I don't get it.
