Porta-Potties
The Fiamma Bi-Pot is my loo of choice. They come from europe and are made of two nealy identical 5 gallon containers. Both are easy to carry, dump and fill and it is high enough to feel just like home. We have bought three, two for previous RV's and one for the house for emergencies and occesional sickroom use.
Available from J.C. Whitey and other RV suppliers.
Here's a link to Fiamma's site, scroll down to the dwg for a better idea.

Thetford 555. Good height, yet fits under the bed. As it is no longer made, it is an antique. Vintage....the pot, not the contents. Raz

The princess will only sit on a Thetford thrown.
I bought a Dometic for the Kit a year ago. The seal went bad after a couple tanks, and the "cool" flushing system I bought it for never worked as stated. Its a pump system like in a garden sprayer that is supposed to stay charged for a day, but I could never get it passed 2 flushes without having to pump it up again.
The Leocraft came with an ancient used Thetford 365 that still works flawlessly, seals tight and never spills.

I have had the Thetford 135 for a few years and have never had a problem, I'm sure some other makes are just as good.

Thetford also is very good at providing parts for old models. They make for easy repairs if seals and such ever do go bad.

Thetford 135. It fits under the front. One thing people haven't mentioned is the pour tube that swings out and makes emptying easier. Our old pot did not have this.
Maybe we are the only people who do not fill the water container. We prefer to
use a bottle of water with a small hole in the cap (higher pressure) which can be squirted where I want. Empty every few days and then wipe down with a clorox type wipe.
The 135 is small. We built a throne to bring it up in height a bit. Just a couple of 2x4 and a board. Since I am short the board is used as a foot rest at other times.

Regarding the hassock. I used something similar for a while. Did not like the disposal. If you want something for more than one trip I would look for the Thetford. Whatever you use there will be condensation that forms above the pot after use. That lid will be wet when you open it up after use. With the Thetford type you don't have to put the wet lid anywhere.

Thetford 465
Our choice is 465.
It is the tallest one they make, I think.
No more falling to the floor to get on the pot.
No more moaning and groaning to get up.
Swivel spout for easy waste disposal.

Nancy, I do the same thing, but I just use a preloved Arrowhead bottle with the sports top.
Til the dog gets ahold of it.. she LOVES empty water bottles!

This is the one I have for the Compact Jr.
I also plan to build a pull-out drawer for it modeled after the one in the Turtle camper.
I like its height and capacity.

No votes for the Porta-Loo? Basically it's a bucket with a seat. Regular toilet height You can get liners and gel to solidify the contents for disposal. We just didn't want to make those midnight hikes any more now that we're up at night to tinkle more often. Might not want it for more. .. Umm...substantial use. But for our use it seems ok. Very inexpensive too

I have a flushie, but have purchased a generic brand of Wag Bags at Wally World for those times I choose NOT to use the campground facilities... I don't put solids down the black tank and this satisfies that. Trying not to be too descriptive here Maybe it would work the same for those that have porta potties as well.

I was getting discouraged when reading reviews of other toilets on Canadian Tires website but the Thetford reviews from you all sound good. We did a month in NewZeland last year in a campervan as they call it there (motorhome here) and all of the toilets are a similar canister system to the Thetford. I think we have a winner now to determine which height of unit to go with.
