We have plans to be traveling more now (retired) and I am looking at mobile printers. It needs to have USB interface or maybe Bluetooth connectivity. Size is a factor. Inkjet is fine and it would be nice to be able to decent color.
Anyone use one that they like?

Thanks

John

Unhappy

I too am looking for just such a device. As it stands, I have to email my printing jobs to myself in attachments, then use someone else's equipment to open my email and print my document.

Sign me up as interested too! Last time I looked, there was a huge price gap between the fabulously small Canon ones and the much larger other ones. I sure miss having one.

I've used Epson printers for years and had pretty good luck with them. They make a new compact office printer that has built-in wi-fi. It might work well in a small fiberglass trailer by not having cords running to it from your laptop.

I personally don't have any experience with this model though.

We we go on extended trups we take along a Lexmark Model X4850.

It is a ink jet printer (2 sided), scanner, direct print photos (SD card), and USB/wireless.

Prints great color.

HP's D-1520 low-end ink jet printer sells for just $33.00 at Walmart. It's not as small as a true partable printer, but it's one of the more compact and lightweight non-portable inkjet printers. Its biggest downside is it has no black ink cartridge, so it burns through expensive tri-color ink even when you print black text.

I have a few HP 450CBi portable inkjet printers available that I can sell from inventory at work. They are lightly used. I'd have to see exactly how many I have, but I think 3 or 4 is a good guess. I might even have one or two of the optional battery packs. Very small, uses two ink tanks (black and tri-color). Can connect via USB or cordless by IR. I don't want to make a big sales pitch in General Chat, so if you are interested, PM me, and we can work it out.

I have a Canon IP-90 (I think)that is great,better than I expected for sure.
It has USB,and Bluetooth and is fairly small.
I hve the battery too and it lasts longer than I thought it would too.

I print thru Bluetooth mainly on the road with it both from Macs.Pc's and Blackberry.

I got it Pre-Owned and would not buy one new for the high price but now I am hooked on it.

Ditto on the hp d-1520 being a good "cheap" printer.

the one we have sitting here on the desk didn't come with a black cartridge but there is a slot avaiable for the cartridge.

black cartridge hp21
color cartridge hp22

I carry an HP 460 Inkjet with me. I printed lots of things with it.

I also carry an HP Photoprinter A616.

Thanks to all for the good information. I am surprised at the number that carry a printer while on the road. I guess that we still have to stay connected and carry our mobile office with us.

Ed Harris is right on, the Canon's the one. The iP90 Bluetooth capable, IR and USB. Beautiful results. I picked mine up at Staples on Garnet Ave, San Diego
