Posting bigfoot pictures

After my trip to the coast, I have a bunch of pictures of Bigfoot
travel trailers that I would like to post. When I try to upload them
the system complains that they are greater then 80K. How do I
shrink them to 80K or less to post?

By the way, we saw a 17', 21' and 25' side by side. Wow, really
nice trailers.

Joe, If your pictures are 500 pixels wide (or tall, for vertical shots), 72 dpi (dots, or pixels per inch), and saved in JPEG format (at about 60 percent compression or ''quality'' rate), they should turn out less than 80 k.

You need to use an image editing program to make them fit the above criteria. There are several available (you may even have one that came with your digital camera or scanner). Some use Irfanview. I use Photoshop LE (light edition).

Does this help? We discussed this not long ago on this thread. There's also some info in the Website Tutorials section of the Forum.

Joe:

Just resize to 500 pixels wide and you should have no problem posting them here. If you've taken high res pictures then you will have to lower the DPI.

Irfranview is a great software program (free too) if you need one.

screen shot

Joe, if you are using Photoshop le which, incidentally ships bundled with some of the better digital cameras, check this pict for the path to image size adjustment. The yellow highlights the pict at 100% [bottom left] @ full display size and the two boxes where you can vary the pixel size.

When you vary one field the other adjusts automatically. I find 400 X 300 is just fine for this board.
