Told my DH that I am planning the road trip and want a trailer that I can pull with the van.
Went to the RV show in Chantilly, VA on Saturday. He cheerfully looked at the small trailers (very few). And other than headroom, (he's 6'2") he seemed to be in sync with what I am looking for although he is insisting on a shower. They did have a T@B, but, as cute as it was, my DH doesn't bend as well as Gumby.
Thankfully the RV Buyer's Guide provided (really just a catalog of all the different current products on the market) included the Casita, Scamp, and Trillium. Once he started looking at the specs, he has decided that a Scamp would be a good match. Now it's just deciding between the 13' and 15'. Hoo-ahh!!
So, I am seriously in the market for a Scamp. I've been watching the ebay marketplace and craigslist (thank you to Thomas G for the info about Search Tempest).
I might even look at a Parkliner, but it doesn't look like there are too many used ones out there since they are still relatively new. We may see if we can visit the factory. We have family near there.
I'm in VA and willing to reasonably travel, and I have family in TX and Central CA that I could call on if necessary.
The hardest part is done. I'm not in a hurry. Guess I'll sit back and troll for a while.

Lora, if you're looking for a used 13' Scamp, just know that model actually is now taller after the January 2006 fire, because they had to make new molds. Prior-to-fire 13' Scamps were less than 6' inside.

EggCamper has interior height of 6' 7" and is 88" wide, which allows a longer mattress. We tow ours with a Sienna minivan.

Also know that the 13' SCAMP is very close for space with the bath/shower. That's the sole reason why we sold ours.

All this info sure makes it even more desirable to get some physical experience with the various types of campers. I've noticed that there will be some rallies early in the year that will be close enough that we could get to them for a weekend. Does etiquette allow for non-egg owners to attend?

The Eggs look nice. One concern is with the seam under the trailer. What is under there to cover it?

I just got mine, but 6'4" headroom inside, nice layout, lots of storage. They haven't been around long, I actually have the first "used" one, a 2012 model... but they are pretty sharp looking!

Thanks! got the 3 curved cushions done, they next ones will be easier since they are rectangles.

ParkLiner has 1 model availible right now... the 15' overall length..12' inside, front bathroom with a side dinette. The rear bed is a queen, which helped sell me lol. Even though Im single, I do like haveing a large bed to lounge in and if I do have company its nice to have your own space when you do sleep.

I noticed the one for sale only has one propane tank (a plus in my opinion).

It would be interesting to learn if the tongue weight goes down much without the second tank. We haven't switched our steel tank with the new 1/2 full fiberglass tank yet. Hoping with our 13 we will not sag too much with the new Rav4.

The Parkliner trailers look nice.

I also visited gatherings before deciding on what I wanted. Helped a lot.

Well I personally like haveing the 2 tanks especially during the winter when I use it as a 2nd home when visiting friends... but I have a feeling come warm weather I could choose to leave 1 tank at home and save myself 40lbs of tongue weight.

I have a suspicion that the listed 220lb tongue weight is with 1 propane bottle up front. I need to bring my scale with me when I go down to see my ParkLiner in a few weeks and weigh it to see what the tongue weight really is.

The seam is sealed 100% from top to bottom. No issue underneath as water does not flow up. The shell stops about 3" below the frame effectively protecting the floor which is fiberglassed encased. There are drain holes strategically placed around that would allow any water that leaked in to escape. Casita's do not have this feature but Scamps are like the EggCamper with the shell protecting the floor.

I can't speak for Casita years other than the two I owned, 85/07 both have total shell protecting the floor. Two pieces put together. Are there years that aren't?

Yes, Casitas have the entire bottom enclosed with fiberglass whereas Eggcamper's bottom is wood encased in fiberglass.
