Proof that there was blue sky at the Bandon NOG

I just started going through some of the pictures I took from the Oregon NOG and have proof that we did have some blue sky. I think it was on Thursday! Also have a shot of a tiny owl from the Raptor event at the stage on Saturday. I find that I'm talking too to many people to take as many shot's as I want. Well, there's always next time to

Sunday and Monday (10-11) were cloudless and I have the sunburn to prove it. Tuesday, rain the AM although I did sit outside under my awning in a T-shirt and drank my coffee at 9am... no wind.. it was fabo. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, were nice and dry. Only had to wear a coat ONE evening... otherwise a T-shirt during the day and hoody sweatshirt at night. Now Saturday, we thought we were going to be rained out for the potluck (OMG), but as is typical Oregon weather it changed and the late afternoon and evening were dry... so was Sunday. I left on Monday (18) and it was damp... kinda beach mist. Cleared up to overcast skies when I hit Eugene. I guess Portland had a record breaking rain storm (nearly an inch) on Sunday. Glad I was much further south!

Thanks for sharing the pictures Danny. Hope you had as much fun as I did. I'm already looking forward to NEXT July for the 10th Annual Oregon Gathering.

Sounds like a good time!
Also very familiar...
I grew up in Portland and spent many a summer on the Oregon Coast.
Lots of wonderful memories, nearly all of them involving gray skies- which didn't keep us off the beach or out of the water, you may be sure.
Just part of being an OARegonian!

In Southern Oregon!
Maybe that's why the "NOG" was "SOG"gy.

Folks keep confusing the Spring/Fall NOGs with the July OG (Oregon Gathering). All are fun, the NOGs are aLOT smaller in the number of participants too. But everyone is welcome!

At least they're not confusing it with DOG(Dutch Oven Gathering).

Yes, Thursday was sunny. Here's my proof -- Elephant Rock at Coquille Point and a link to the sets: Around Bandon Oregon - a set on Flickr

Great pictures Brian, I like the early morning highlights off the deer. I looked at the Casita Web site and it was called NOG in their announcement, so I guess I'm not the only one confused. I do like calling it SOG, though that name may stick to any get togather this year!

Danny:

If you look at the exif information for that picture you will see that it was taken at 8:21 PM PDT, so the light was from the setting sun. I'm glad you liked the picture. We saw the deer walking to the left of the road. We sat in the car and waited, and eventually it decided to cross the road with the sun behind it and I was able to take the picture bracing the camera as best I could.
