Andrea,
Do we sense a feeling of excitement which is nearly "over the top"? C'mon admit it! After all, you are among friends. Besides, most all of us have, or are still, experiencing it. Either that or they are suffering the agonies of anticipation.
We suspect that even if it were pouring outside, no rain would spoil your "parade" today.
Congratulations and welcome to the "club"

Too cool It's really unusual for folks to find a wonderful trailer in their OWN home town....yur a lucky gal And yes by all means, come to NOG...there's still spots open in the park...and NONE are all that far from the main gathering area. Post any results on reservations in the NOG topic please.

Pics, we wanna at pics!

Congrats Andrea! Welcome to the ranks of Bigfoot owners! You have reason to be excited!

Actually you have a 17' Bigfoot, not a 17.5'. Your actual model designation for that trailer is a 15B17G or 15B17CB indicating a 1500 series, 17 foot, rear bath/side gaucho arrangement. The center bath models are indicated by a CB instead of the G. The 175s which are the 2500 series bodies were first produced in 2005.

I have an '04 15B17CB and an '06 25B25RQ and my neighbor (and Pastor) has a '93 15B19G tandem axle! We probably have the market cornered on Bigfoot trailers in the midwest! In epidemiology, they call that a cluster, so I guess we have a Bigfoot cluster in our neighborhood?

If there's anything I can help with, please let me know.

Roger

Congratulations Andrea! I can't wait to see photos of your Bigfoot!
Another rally to consider going to is the Oregon Gathering in Bandon on July 19-22. At the moment the campground is filled, but if you ask Nancy to put you on the waiting list, chances are good that someone will cancel and you'll be able to get a campsite at Bullards Beach. Thus far 117 sites have been reserved for the Gathering!

Happy travels,
Jeanne

Thanks guys!! I am super excited

She got her first bath today and I pulled out all the dirty miniblinds. I have a big fun project ahead, but I am up for the challenge.

The old owner called her Betsy, but I think a new name is in the works

I will post pics soon!

Andrea,

Welcome to the Bigfoot family. We're just up the road in Salem -- purchased "sasquatch"in October and have yet to travel! We'll be at the Waterloo Northern Oregon gathering and look forward to meeting you there.

Hi Andrea, Welcome. I will also be at the Waterloo gathering in April. I live in the big town of Jasper, very near you. There appear to be quite a few of us from the Eugene Springfield area. We could probably have our own rally. Look forward to seeing you at Waterloo.

Why yes I did Gina It is nice - no cranking involved as long as you have a live battery or power.

Hi Andrea, Larry and I will be at the Oregon Rally. I'm sooo looking forward to it. I think I'm getting cabin fever, one of those must get out of town or go batty . Will also be right after my 40th birthday. Wanted to go to Hawaii, but to tell the truth I think this might be more fun and way less stress (and money).
Hope to see there.....

I have a question for Roger H or anyone who knows the answer. What is the weight rating of the axle on the 1500 series Bigfoot 17 footers? The rating for the 2500 series is 4400#, I think.

Bob,

The axle on my '04 is rated at 3500 lbs. Can't address for sure what other year model 17's have, but they're probably the same...

According to the 1500 specs page which I downloaded from Bigfoot before it was discontinued, it is a 3500 lb axle (in both 15B17CB and 15B17G variants). I can't be sure of the model year... I believe that it was the last version posted before the 1500 series was discontinued, and I downloaded it in October 2004.
1500 Specifications:
1500specs.pdf

and for a bonus, the other 1500 stuff which I grabbed at the same time (while I'm at it)...

Yes, I believe that the 2500-series model (25B17.5xx) has a single 4400 lb axle, while the large units have tandem 3500 lb axles.

Information is good. Lack of information is not so good, but misinformation is much worse. Check facts, and apply common sense liberally.

Just got back from the Winter Warm-up. Thanks for the info re axle ratings. I had planned to check out the 2004 Bigfoot 17 for sale in Irvine, but didn't get a reply from the RV place.
